Can a gun smith import a .38 revolver for deact purpose?

I still have mine that needs the work (well worn and unsafe for life ammo)

Can the same gun smith convert a life .22 enfield in to a blank fire rifle? and can i keep said rifle for shows ?

i have 5 deacts in holland without any proofmark or paperwork, i like to have that carried out to uk spec so i can have them on the wall.

is there a gun smith on this forum who can quote for the jobs via PM?

thanks,

You will need a Section 5 Armourer to import a Live Pistol & carry out the deactivation work.

Over here all the Enfield rifles that reenactors use at shows firing blanks are Live weapons held on a Section 1 Firearms Certificate, there are no blank fire Enfields.

i hope that a certificate can be gotten more easy when the barrel is welded up a bit, and the hole for the gasses to escape situated under the sight. i have asked for more info at http://www.helstongunsmiths.com/

for the revolver import and deact ( even the deact is on a licence in holland)

and how to get a licence for the rifle, with or without the work done to it.

thanks.

thanks for the reply,

the dutch licence department won't let me as i have been convicted on charges of owning a bren gun and sten gun (both legally deacts in the uk) while not being deactivated enough in holland.

my brother who has both on his licence won't travel by boat, and airplane operators like klm give a bit of trouble with their terrorist laws.

this one europe thing is not working out on this bit, but i have hope to ask for a .22 hunting licence here, or have my fiance import and own the enfield for me.

i hope i have a chance with a mark on my record (2 years probation) for as the judge called it, over exitement in collecting.

cheers,

Arjan

dutch deact rules makes the cost 500 euro to deact, it gets 1/3 of the gun milled away and the remains welded on a wall mounted plate.

don't think so. can any one suggest a german gunsmith? and help me with writing german?

cheers,

arjan
