Big Al
I would say it would of be a SMG but I am not sure The stollys were used mainly by R A units to supply the FV 433 Abbot 105 SPG. Big Al
ArtistsRifles
Crew personal weapons would have been the L1A1 SLR - there are two clips across the rear bulk-head of the cab for them. Officially - to the best of my knowledge - there were no other weapons mounted on a Stalwart. Nothing in any of the documentation I have refers to any other weapons other than the SLR's. That said - there are some photo's floating about on the web that appear to show an LMG mounted on a tripod stand over the Commanders hatch..... simon stolly
I have seen one with a GPMG mounted to the left of the commanders hatch, there is a blanking plate there ( probably for a second aerial) this was a privately owned vehicle, so whether the army fitted them I could not say. However a large machine gun on top of a stolly can only add to it's presents. :-D
ArtistsRifles
That blanking plate is for the second aerial. Nothing in any manual I've seen thus far indicates any other weapon than the crews SLR's were carried. However a unit mod might have been carried out for air defence or similar???
