  1. I have just brought a MAN Kat1 4x4 if anyone has a workshop manaul or parts catalogue or a MG3 / 42 gun mount ring or the name of parts suppliers I would really appreciate it. . . . . cheers Simon
  2. has anyone got a wiring diagram for RB44...?
  3. WEll DONE!:-D Now just fix it so evertime someone types in war and peace, this page comes up!!! :cool2:
  4. If it had a hard body on the back and was fitted out as camper inside, it could be taxed as as a motor caravan and therefore undergo a normal class 4 mot, could it not?
  5. Any chance of getting a copy from you?
  6. Just Brought the RB44 that was on Eblag last week. has come back from kuwiat with sand and bullet holes and has only done 4300miles. I need some cab bits, winch, radio body, tyres, info, manuals. Can anyone help Please? I have driven this down the road and it drives great, so anyone thinking of getting one don't be put off by rubbish remours! After all it's a 5 ton truck not a rally car.
  7. Hi, I'm interested in getting a RB44 winch with comms pod can any RB44 owners tell me what they are like on/off road, fuel consumption, common faults etc... Cheers Simon
  8. Hi Chaps, my Foden Gun Limber 6x6 is regretfully up for sale, interested parties, please PM me. Its on the road, runs and drives fine, has two living boxes, one fitted as a full kitchen/ shower with cooker two fridges sink etc and the other as a bedroom, I still have the drop sides. The hiab picks the boxes up and a land rover, comes with recon 9 speed g/box in a crate spare wheel and tyres and lots of other stuff. May do a deal on a clean RB44 winch or WHY? Cheers Simon
  9. I was wondering where you had got too Perky, up to no good, no doubt!:cool2: I am planning a Reccy trip to see the site and owner soon and get things underway. The more recovery vehicles, the better!, I think we are going to need them! Young Nik and his Explorer (More Scammels please!) will be there All Militant owners are especially welcome! Withams may be bringing some of their kit to Demo. There is a good chance this could be a weekend camping meeting open to non off roading spectators, who don't want to get their pride and joy dirty, as well as you off road nuts! A dirty crank-up, I mean chill out, if you like. More info soon.
  10. I can confirm that the site is Avon Dassett, it is early days, but with the response I have had so far looks likely to happen. This site will give owners a chance to give their vehicles a serious work out More details posted soon!
  11. The site is to be confirmed and it is early days, I was hoping for your support Rob (and others) Thank you! I hope to make this at least a yearly event, as for camp fires, I don't think there will be a problem. The site I have in mind and have already spoke to with provisional agreement is in South Warwickshire, all tracked stuff welcome, from carriers to Challengers! The site organizer tells me that there is usually enough water to swim a Stolly I will need some recovery kit for casualties, anyone got Militant or Scammell with a big winch?
  12. Hello all, this post is to gauge interest in a proposed new event in Springtime (ish) 2011. Please reply to this if you are genuinely interested in coming to this event, as the more numbers I get, the stronger the chance that it will happen. I am currently in talks with the owner of a South Midlands based off road quarry site to hold a Heavy (Unimog, 101 size up) and Tracked off road weekend ! :cool2: I propose that it would be open to all vehicles, Military and Civvy, that are bigger than Land Rover, 4x4 at least or tracked, yes tracked! So if you fancy getting your Stolly, Dodge WC, Foden, Militant, Bedford, 432, Chieftain, Zill, Ferret, Scammell, etc dirty, then get in touch. It would be a pay-in event, however I will try to keep cost down to a minimal, camping will be available, who knows it could turn into a full blown show! Tell me what you want! An Organized truck trail or a fun off roading event? People wanting to come see the fun and and not take part could stay the weekend or day too (space permitting). Firstly, I need feedback, ideas etc..so don't be shy. Cheers Simon
  13. We will pretend that never happened before the arm-chair health n safety police come down on us!!! (again) How ever should it of happened, which of course it didn't, there may be a video of it somewhere.....:cool2:
  14. I went to this show and stayed the whole weekend (unlike some, that ran away at the first drop of rain!) Naming no names :cool2: First I would like to thank our hosts the Alvis Fighting Vehicle Society  Along with The Birmingham MVT, for putting on a great show that has huge future potential! Phill Palmer, Grumpy, and many others, I cannot put a name to, worked very hard to make this show happen, and it is very much appreciated! :thanx: The setting for the show was lovely, with some great scenery of the surrounding countryside, so calm and serene, until the AFVS blew it up with their superb battle. The weather could of been better at times, but in general was fair, if a little windy. I believe the point Big Dave (AKA the prodigal son) was trying make about lack of support from the MVT, is that surprising few local MVT members turned up to support their own show, lets hope that with better planning and advertising etc, next year we can really put this show on the map. Re-enactors or other motoring groups may help spread the appeal and is an option that should be considered, again the date has pro's and con's, being a bank holiday means most folk have three days off and can enjoy a long weekend, however it also means that it will coincide with many other events, Military and non-Military, The Great Dorest Steam fair took away a few people that I think would of gone another time. All in all, a great first effort. Gentleman I applaud you. Highlights of the show for me were; Big Dave's Foden drops doing it's thing (I want one!!!!!) Me and John Boy stealing Big dave's Drops and going for a joy ride in it. Every type of CVRT you could think of in the same field (I want one of them too!) Phil Palmer power drifting his Dodge WC (mint) on the wet grass The AFVS battle ( the cows in the field across the way, will never be the same again) The mother of all camp fires we had on Sunday night , the local Chinese take away gets 10 out 10 too! The sand Stolly FV623 and Supacat Nice......... The cleanest Leyland Daff Radio body in the land Getting hammered in the beer tent with friends old and new, way, way past bed time.:beer: I urge everyone to put this show in their calender for next year, as it can only get bigger and better. Lastly; Post war - Pre war, the movement needs them both to survive, so lets throw all the past grievances aside and ALL THE BIG GREEN THINGS in a field together....... Barby lit, beer chilled Simples......
  15. I would love too, but the amount of work to do (in my spare time only) and the £350 (and climbing) fuel bill and Beltring only 10, yes count em, 10 weeks away, it's not looking favorite. Here is the latest photo of Camp Foden in typical bank Holiday weather, one day I will get some paint on her! And another Foden that needs a bit of work Wendy has killed one of the needle guns and we are now turning the house upside down, looking for the receipt!
  16. Sorry for sounding abrupt in my last reply, but I have heard alot from people saying that you can't register a Foden DROPs at 9.5ft wide for the road as a private user, strangely the same people that run around the country in a 10.5ft wide vehicle (for fun) whilst towing an over width trailer AND a living trailer. :cool2: Please do go on and explain more, or could you show me where this post is?
  17. So, no one else can comment on it? Not much point of a forum, then is it???????????????
  18. First photo I took the chance with the body off of tapping the gear box dip stick and fitting a bolt to stop water getting in there. (common fault) Second photo I promised Wendy a dirty weekend!!!!!!! :cool2: Third photo It looks all stripped! but there's still loads to do! All the awkward bits................:-( Fourth photo Needle gunning a truck the size of the Foden is a daunting task, but shot blasting would of put grit in all the joints and would of cost alot. I used Clark's (Machine Mart) straight Needle gun (not the trigger air chisel one, no where near as good) And a big compressor sticking out 10 Bar Fifth photo Heres Chris showing how strong a Bedford boy can be!!! Having a truck that can dismantle it's self is a real bonus :-D
  19. Here are some photos of my little project first photo is how the Foden came to me, from Dave Crouch's yard. The second is how it goes to show's ( pre resto), The third is the first major job of fitting a new exhaust, ( if you see how big and long a fh70 Foden's exhaust is you will agree that it is a major job!!) The fourth is removing the rear load bed, prior to needle- gunning the chassis, axels etc.
  20. The Foden's off road ability impressed me ( it was the first time I had taken it off road) But the Scammels blew me away!!! They were awesome. I could not believe how capable they were. :wow:
  21. why couldn't it come under engineering plant or road recovery? It has the capacity and method to recover. As for what it carried in service being divisible, you could argue that in civvy street it's load is not, such as a mobile home. Does any one Know the width of the DROPS pallet? I am a big fan of Foden DROPS, and would dearly love to own one day...... but only if I could run it legal on the road.
  22. Heres some photos of old girls getting down and Dirty!! :cool2:
