Introduction - Patrick Tipton in rural, NW NJ

Recommended Posts

My name is Patrick Tipton and I recently became the owner of Portrayal Press. I wanted to stop by and say hello to this global community of military vehicle enthusiasts.

I have been a student of the military and military vehicles since I found my elementary school library's collection of military titles at age 7. The school had a large collection of books on WWII and I decided then and there that I needed to own a half-track. My parents were not particularly supportive of the half-track idea, but humored my obsession with things military by supporting a military book habit.

Cut forward a few decades. I have not obtained my half-track, but I do own an MB that is currently in parts in my shop. I am a gear head at heart and have built or worked on just about everything - airplanes, cars, motorcycles, tractors, heavy equipment and so on. I still see a half-track in my future. :-D

I live in the northwestern, very rural corner of New Jersey with my wife, two kids and too many animals.

I am very excited to be the new owner of Portrayal Press and look forward to continuing a 30 year legacy of supporting military vehicle enthusiasts throughout the world with high quality reprints of vehicle manuals and related titles. We are busy updating our catalog and will be adding new titles over the coming months. We are also building a new website which will include our complete catalog and have a proper shopping cart with PayPal/Visa/Mastercard checkout. We are now on Twitter (@PortrayalPress) and Facebook and would love to hear from you with suggestions, questions or just to say hello.

I look forward to participating on HMVF.

Good to see you Patrick, welcome, and good luck with your new venture.

Please pass our thanks and best wishes on to Dennis too, as he has served the community well for many years.

Its likely to be mine if fuel prices keep rising like they are here in the U.K.
