I heard something about that we lost more men in one day on the Somme than the Americans did in the whole of the vietnam war ?.
Paul Drake
I heard something about that we lost more men in one day on the Somme than the Americans did in the whole of the vietnam war ?. Not quite true, Vietnam claimed 57,939 American lives. The first day of the Somme there were 60,000 casualties, of whom 20,000 were dead, the rest wounded or missing. It is true that there were more casualties in the American Civil War than in all subsequent American wars combined.
