I would have thought it more likely to be BSP, ie British Standard Pipe, and there should be a good chance of finding one with that thread. I just assumed it would be whitworth. If it turns out that it is BSP, is there any suppliers you can recomend?
antarmike
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=Air+brake+safety+valve&_sacat=See-All-Categories May well be BSp threaded.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lot-2-New-Bering-Truck-Safety-Valves-69425-MT068-/380094270423?pt=Other_Vehicle_Parts&hash=item587f624bd7#ht_500wt_922 Expensive but from O.D. more than likely 1/4 BSP threaded. Plantters
Truck and Trailer Components catalogue lists a Knorr Bremse item with 1/2 NPTF thread, item # 71165. TTC items are available from all Intertruck factors and many other commercial vehicle factors as well. I would certainly be inclined to try a local CV factor, should be an easy enough component to get hold of. Good luck
Richard Farrant
Although this link shows valves not specifically for vehicle air brakes, it does show what is available, in BSP threads and varying blow off pressures. http://secure.thorite.co.uk/Industrial-compressors-and-ancillaries/Ancillary-components/Safety-relief-valves/p-6-605-45015/
