ajmac
The photo below is the ball from the base of the Loyd Carrier remote gearchange lever, as you can see it is bent and a bit rough, I am looking for one in better condition, question is what was it from and does anyone have a spare knocking around? Part No: BB7215 V.A.O.S: LV7/FD In the Loyd parts book, parts from a universal carrier usually have a 'TL' (tank light) prefix, loyd bits from the Fordson 7V have a '7V' prefix, so what does 'BB' stand for? e.g. Radiator Pipe: 7V-8290, Bogie Spring: TL114, Section of Armour Plate: LY404 NB: ball is a little smaller than a 5p coin Edited June 9, 2011 by ajmac
Adrian Barrell
It's a typical Ford part, a similar bit is used as the clutch cross shaft end bearings in the Ford built M4A3 Sherman, probably a little larger though... Isn't there a similar part on Jeeps clutch shaft?
Richard Farrant
The Ford BB was a light truck dating from early 1930's and many of its parts were to continue in the Ford parts inventory until the 1970's, rear hub seals for instance

woa2
Are you sure it's BB-7215? Could it be BB-7213 as this is part of a WOT2 as well, and BB-7215 is a lever and BB-7213 is the ball.
ajmac
I'll have a second look in the parts book when I get home, it's small print and I could have skipped a line. Doesn't look like it's the correct part from the description in the Vanpelt document.... whatever the Loyd book says I will get the 7213 from vanpelt. ajmac
My mistake, the 7213 says it is the ball...but the diagram points to the gear knob, I'll post when I find out for sure what is what, now I'm going to find out what a BB looked like:)
