Jessie The Jeep
It looks like a quite well preserved Class 'A' Airfield. Two sets of maximum length loop dispersals ( four long, and each side of the perimeter ) can be seen running parallel to the secondary 1,400 yard runways. Two further loops can be seen on the peri-track parallel to the main 2,000 yard runway. I presume the main technical site and hangar base is upper right in the picture, and is that dark dot the where the perimeter track bends the Control Tower? Construction would have taken about 1 year at a cost of £1,000,000. Just one airfield out of so many. Steve

Jack
Hi Mick. Yes it is at Upottery and it is no longer used, it is a wonderful place and a place we visit quite often - for some reason it has some strange sort of attraction to my family and I.
