ashley
Today attended the above function....not many vehicles as such :-( but what an interesting day. Up on the old earth works known as Old Sarum, the Great War Society had a British WW1 encampment, a German bunker and section of trench, a display of vickers M.G. section and a promise of a ariel dogfight too good to miss i thought. A few pictures follow ...... entrance to bunker http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0076.jpg[/img] inside http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0077.jpg[/img] german speaking officer http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0079.jpg[/img] the trench http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0080.jpg[/img] another view http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0087.jpg[/img] A mule (unusual?) http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0096.jpg[/img] saddles http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0093.jpg[/img] mg on display http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0105.jpg[/img] A very funny (and probally accurate tale of flying) http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0114.jpg[/img] Junkers prepare to straff ground troops http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0131.jpg[/img] watched by a falcon / http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0125.jpg[/img] Abritish RE8 comes to rescue of troops on ground http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0149.jpg[/img] german gets hit http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0145.jpg[/img] germans head for home http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0156.jpg[/img] Brit. circles http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/WW1%20Day%20out/DSCF0162.jpg[/img] just a few of the pictures i took. apparently the flying display was drastically altered due to the weather (windy) conditions Ashley

Enigma
Looks good. Went to a WW1 event a few months ago near Paschendale, 150 re-enactors and me as the only one in a original WW1 uniform and gear (US). We got a movie shown with a real live orchestra playing music, very cool!!
ashley
Thanks for the replies, the aerial display was a first for me (did not know they existed) Great War Aeronautical society. Well worth seeing more of. Ashley
