B60 No.1 Mk 6A / L

Toolman

Question

Hi guys

I've been checking my exhaust tappets today on the ferret and have taken note of the Engine Number plate.

I was surprised to see that my B60 is in fact a Mk 6A/L

According to Pats RR B Series engine book, that engine was fitted to 'Vigilant' AFV.

What does the 6A/L signify over the standard Mk 6A? And would it be a standard fit into my ferret?

Cheers

Matt

Matt,

I would not take too much attention to that book. If you check EMER's you will see that all Ferrets could have a 6A or 6A/L. If my old memory is working, the L stood for long liners as opposed to short liners in the 6A.
