Richard Farrant
Hi All,Can anyone tell me if the military vehicles carrying prewar number plates were renumbered on the outbreak of WW2, or carried them till disposal ? Hi Norm, If you are talking about British army vehicles, prewar, then yes, they did have civilian type number plates, with registration numbers issued in Middlesex. But, they were also allocated census numbers which were painted on the sides of the vehicle, but often quite small lettering. So, these numbers would have continued to be their identity.
