drew Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 (edited) Hi Everybody Just found this forum and thought I would join in. I have been restoring a 1944 Type 82 Kubelwagen for several years now and as I get closer to finishing it my mind starts to think about the next project. Try the link below to see the progress so far. http://www.vw166.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=366 I have been thinking about a Hotchkiss Spz Kurz, so if anyone out there knows where I might find one to restore please let me know. Anyway good to be here and hope to add stuff as and when I can. Regards Drew 1944 Type 82 Kubelwagen Edited August 8, 2009 by drew Quote
abn deuce Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Very nice, there must be very few originals left in the world? Quote
Mark Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Hi Drew and welcome, how long before you finish the project. ? Quote
Tony B Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Welcome from the hordes across the border. You've a real tresure there. Quote
drew Posted August 10, 2009 Author Posted August 10, 2009 Thanks for all the welcomes. In response to some of your questions, there are more original kubels out there than most people think, estimates range from 50 to 150 but of course there are plenty of copies and many original bodies on later VW floor pans. I have been restoring this one for around 6 years and every year I say it will be finished this year, but I have to be realistic and say that it should be up and running before the 2012 Olympics. And Hi Chris I am in Epsom surrey. Regards Drew Quote
