  1. I think the tracking may have been affected......
  2. Welcome to the forum. Make yourself at home.
  3. Very interesting thread. Wow that original chassis was toast! I can recommend Autosparks they even built a custom loom for me a couple of years ago to fit a 300 Tdi into a series 2a. They hadn;t done one before but put all the correct fittings on and were really helpful even to the point of the chap building the loom phoning part way through the build to check which instruments and warning lights I would be carrying over to the series 2a. Money well spent I say. As a 17 yr old I had a series 3 with those distinctive sounding tyres and had to park at the other end of the village and walk the last bit otherwise my parents knew exactly what time I arrived home...:angel: Looking forward to seeing more of the rebuild as it progresses.
  4. I hadn't noticed the British Forage cap, but I think the recovery crew in the British army Scammell Recovery films are wearing them. At least I think the bloke in charge is....? Just from memory as I haven't seen it for a while/

    I get it too when viewing a thread but it seems to be part og the site rather than a pop up...?? Normally advertising related books etc. Wonder if the forum is linked?
  6. That's progressing very nicely. Thanks for posting the photos.
  7. A man goes to the Doctor with a steering wheel sticking out of his flies. Doc asks " how long have you been like this?" Man replies " Not long, but it's drivin' me nuts..."
  8. I'd say repair is feasable. I've used the local agricultural engineer in the past. That was with a diesel tank off the Scammell though-they may not have been so keen with petrol. I'm sure Frost Automotive stock the stuff you're talking about but I've never tried it myself.
  9. We're all dying ('scuse the pun) to know what the green stuff was now...
  10. Tony I rest my case!:nut::nut::nut:
  11. Given the number of natural disasters happening around the world at the moment, I'm always amazed by two things. First, that so many resources are used just to get pictures ie helicopters with film crews on board which could surely be put to better use helping those people stranded by floods etc and second that so many people hang around to see the oncoming Tsunami :nut: Just this morning I've seen car and lorry loads of people in Japan on a bridge WATCHING while the huge tide sweeps boats, vehicles and bits of buildings straight towards them at road level! What is it about human nature that makes us do that? (BTW I realise I'm being slightly hypocritical here in that I couldn't see the pictures without the use of the helicopters). Am I alone in thinking "move you silly s*ds!" or am I just becoming a grumpy old man? Right, rant over. Back to my armchair by the fire. :coffee:
  12. This a long shot I know, but does anyone know the fate of a Bedford RL with the military reg 36 BS 88? It was used as a ration truck for the RA at Aldershot in the late 50's. Any information or clues where I might look would be appreciated. Thanks Daz
  13. No problem! It's so easy to overlook these things. I know the chance of being hacked is fairly small, but there IS always a chance. Daz
  14. Would love to see more Gritineye. Please keep the thread going...
  15. "While on Facebook, look at your URL address in the address bar; if you see http: instead of https: then you don't have a secure session and you can be hacked. Go to Account (top right corner) select "Account Settings" then choose "Account Security" and click Change. Check at least the first setting, otherwise FB defaults to the non-secure setting. Please Copy and re-post." I wasn't aware of this and thought it might be of use to someone. Daz
  16. Here you go. Hopefully yours will have better emissions Nick..:drive:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qt37_558_Y
  17. Hello Mark. It would make an interesting blog as Andy says. Sorry got no photos to hand at the moment but I'm sure you won't have to wait long... Enjoy the build. Are you basing it on a pre produced chassis or making everything from scratch? Have a look through the Explorer thread and the Explorer restoration blogs as there may well be some useful pics here already. Daz
  18. Welcome to the forum Cliff. It would be great to see some photos when you have the time to post them.
