  2. Thank you chaps This week i seem to have spent a lot of time messing about with fiddly little bits. Parts added include handbrake and winch control levers,wiper motors,vacuum brake unit,door handles,engine cover and securing strap,air filter and passenger seat base and a semi finished fuel tank.
  3. Bit of a funny weekend discoverd that i had not left enough room under the cab for the gearbox and motor the plan was to have the motor partially into the cab where the real engine sits but i would have had to cut part of the floor away as well which would have been visible. So after a bit of head scratching i have managed to get the gearbox and motor low enough for the cab to fit and also clear the axle. One of the things i wanted was for the steering servo to be in roughly the same position as the steering drop arm on the real thing,by turning the gearbox round i have managed to achieve this as you will see in the pictures. Also added a few minor details but as it is white plastic i dont seem to be able to get a decent picture

  6. Thought i had better update this thread. Turns out the Matador Defiance lives only 5 miles away from me i managed to get a load of pictures to help with the build,alas it turned out that the cab was overscale and the wrong shape so was scrapped :mad: Well here are a few pictures of the build as it is now

  8. :-D Thats them Paul thank you The bottom picture is taken outside Skircoat road garage and you can see the old tramlines in the cobbles which are still there today. The door to the left went into the repair dock and the turn onto the pits was so tight we used to jack the rear of the bus up and place the tyres on greasy boards and push the back end across to get in line with the pit The pictures are in the old Halifax Corporation colours The link to the green and white Matador is i believe the same vehicle but in the then West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive colours taken at the rear of Elmwood garage which is just across the road. Just as a matter of interest you can still see to this day on Elmwood garage all be it rarther faded the camoflage from WW2 Thanks once again Mark
  9. Hi Paul Where did you find the pictures There was two Matadors but one lived at Toddmorden,if my memory serves me right only one had a desert rat painted on the front They were replaced by a Guy Big J4T which wasn't a patch on them Mark

Hi Just looking through the threads and stumbled across this I have 2 rolls of Uninyvin wire in my garage One roll of 20 One roll of 16 How much are you after as i could cut you some It origanally came from Reliance Mercury vehicles where i worked until it was absorbed by the Dennis group and then became part of Douglas
  12. After a few hours this evening made a bit of progress,still suprising how long it took to make.At the moment i think the centre upright is a little wide so will have to rework it
  13. Im building a radio controlled 1/14th scale Matador and could do with help with pictures please. Im basing the model on a couple of pictures i have found of a Matador named Defiant but could really do with close up pictures in particular how the rear body is mounted to the chassis and also some views of the rear interior. I have searched all 88 pages of the Matador gallery to no avail so any close up views would be very welcome. I have made a start and you can view it in the models section. Also does anyone know what happend to the Matador that lived at Halifax bus garage,loved that vehicle,always remember the desert rat painted on the front. Cheers Mark
  14. Cheers chaps Abn deuce You are correct,the chassis is hand made the axles come from a Tamiya TLT 4x4 truck. The springs are Tamiya wagon springs whilst the spring hangers and swinging shacles are hand made. The propshafts again come from the Tamiya TLT but are cut and lengthend to suit The transfer box is a rc4wd item made in the USA Masseyboy89 My inital thoughts are to build it with the original body and canvas top but could do with seeing the interior of one Well managed to get in the shed and do a little bit this weekend,chassis now sat on all four wheels and a start made on the cab
