  1. A massive well done to you and your helpers for saving this treasure trove for fellow enthusiasts, there cant be many hauls like this left now. I would love to save an Austin 10 but current financial circumstances say otherwise:cry: All best wishes in 'homing' it all!
  2. I'm still here! I didnt realise it was so long since my last post. Having trouble doing pics on the PC at the minute but things are progressing. Honest!:-D
  3. Welcome to the forum. Any pics? Do you have a handbook for it? PM me I may be able to help.
  4. Always interested in seeing pics if its not any bother to you.
  5. Yes, went as normal (Early:yawn:). All bar one stall got undercover. Admittedly there wernt as many traders as usual, but some interesting bits and pieces and a good atmosphere. Thank you to Steve and team for still holding it. In fact the weather although wet on and off wasnt as bad as predicted.
  6. I've got a bit lapse with piccys lately, the body is back on and has had some paint - more to go on though. Endless odds and ends done, but the list doesnt seem to be getting much shorter!
  7. I'm going, whatever the weather, I've got pocket money to spend!:cool2:
  8. Certain Dennis Fire Appliances (the DS certainly) had these fitted, usually coupled to an Alison Auto box.
  9. Really looking forward to next Saturday now. Got any bits to suit an M38?:cool2:
  10. Thanks guys, going to visit on the Saturday.:-D
  11. Should red MP lights on US vehicles flash or just glow?
  12. I havent been to this one for a few years, and understand it has grown. Can anyone give me an idea if the market is good, do any of the Jeep spares dealers attend for instance?
  13. Someone once told me the Officer in charge of the National Fire Service overseas contingent, travelling with the US army had use of one. Never found a picture of it though (yet:cool2:).
  14. May thank gents for your time and advice. Removable signs it is then.
  15. The body is in remarkable condition, albeit a bit dented here and there.
  16. Looks so much better with a lick of paint!
  17. I have prefixed this IMPORTANT as I feel it is. As an fellow ethusiast I want to wish all those going to Normandy a safe and enjoyable trip. Most of you have worked hard on your vehicles, spending hours and small fortunes getting them ready for this, so enjoy. I am sure this goes without saying (but I will anyway), spare a little time to reflect on why you are there, perhaps on the morning of the 6th, or when you can. You are on holiday, those that were there in 1944 were not. I hope the veterans attending are treated like the heroes they are. If you are honoured to know or meet one then thank them for EVERYTHING for me please.
  18. looking good mate. Hope you have a great trip, see you soon.
  19. Work is progressing at a slow but steady pace. I picked up some odds and ends at the Dallas digout, including various seals and gaskets. Chassis and engine clean up continues.
  20. No problem mate. Jeep is progressing ok, I will get around to putting some pics up soon.
  21. Bit worried the way this thread is going on our friendly forum? Anyway, my experience probably wont help:blush: I sent off my paperwork about two weeks ago to register the M38, had a phone call last Thursday from a really nice guy from DVLA to say I had put my taxation start date as 1 May (i wasnt that optimistic:D) but they couldnt issue a tax over 14 days before so could it be started on 1 april!. Duly agreed the new V5 arrived this morning!. I imagine the tax disc will arrive next week. So thanks to Chris Brooks, MVT verification officer, Robert who inspected the vehicle on his behalf, and the relevant staff at DVLA - there I've said it!
