  1. Beat me to it by 1 minute! :-D
  2. I did wonder the same from the link I put up, This page must be close to it; http://summerof44.org.uk/OldSite/Menu/Vehicles/BedMWV.htm I'll need to send off for his service record now & find out.
  3. PM sent with Anne's email address John - she's posting out welcome packs end of July. Yes we'll have to arrange a meet point...
  4. Thanks both, found this similar vehicle based on that info - second post down (some excellent photos also on Richards two links above it) http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?10507-Bedford-MW-s-in-service-gallery/page7
  5. Hello all, Found this photo of my late grandpa Alan Wormald spraying a truck at RAF Marham in 1948, a CMP truck of some sort? Not seen that body on one either-small workshop body perhaps? Also, anyone know what the 'G.587' refers to - building number? The text on the photo & below it reads; MAR.G.587 13-5-48// SPRAYING BAY IN USE RAF MARHAM 1948 ALAN Regards
  6. Spot on, thanks Iain - I'll try to locate the hyd filters over the next few weeks & will post if I'm successful. Cheers
  7. thanks Jules, hoping for at least three shows before the seasons out. Any photos of yours? I remember seeing the advert for it a while back if I'm thinking of the correct one...
  8. I hope it isn't too late for my MV application, I've just submitted the online form & once submitted it refreshes to a blank form, if that's correct? I'll make contact anyway...
  9. I'm interested in this if it occurs again in 2017, just missed it this year with works to the Militant.
  10. I'll second that, we had the same experience last year. The amount of folk that got fed up & turned back grew & grew (albiet to our benefit ) but meant lost revenue for the show...
  11. I'd spotted it a while back due to its cab conversion, I assume it's the same one but unsure as the bonnet is slightly different on this flicker image. http://www.flickriver.com/photos/21437618@N02/3469016472/ On ebay a while back http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/181571528538?_mwBanner=1 Have a look at Iain's & my resto blog http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?43881-87-ET-77-Militant http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?51494-Milly-turbo-removal-return-to-standard there are others too if you use the search function. regards
  12. Thanks for the reply Iain, just ordered the various oils OMD 80, OEP 220 & XG 279, a local factor matched the oil filters but I lost the piece of paper so will contact them on Monday.
  13. Do other Militant owners out there follow these pressures from the Servicing Schedule? When I purchased the truck, the previous owner had them set to 100 psi, which I lowered to 60 psi all round. I know some people like to keep them slightly over inflated as the vehicles tend to stand for some time.
  14. Oxy cabinet, Jerry can cage & air filter all positioned, albiet the latter an inch too high due to Oxy cabinet repair.
  15. "Sorry to say since he retired 4 years ago we have stopped doing British vehicle canvas work. I now concentrate on US vehicle canvas work." :undecided:
  16. Landing craft (troop variety I think) near Noss Creek spotted from the Dart Steam Railway between Paignton & Kingswear, Devon, UK.
  17. Had an email back from Jim Clark ref the spare wheel cover & hip pad for cupola, apparently the chap who made yours has now retired Iain, may have to go local for these, I have an avenue to try.
  18. So that's what they were for, questioned it as I hadn't seen it before on a Mili, looked unusual. I may well have to purchase these after a gust of wind nearly pulled me out the cab whilst opening the door
  19. Lovely job on that steering wheel, I had a go at mine a few years back. It's a lot better than it was but I may look to do the same as you in time.
  20. Hello Robin, I've now got both sets of the pressed metal plates ready & waiting at home :-), I'm not aiming at a perfect authentic nut & bolt resto just an overall roughly-correct depiction of an in service vehicle. Like you say, there will always be variations on that so I think I'm almost there with the project as a whole. Thanks for your input; comments, observations & constructive criticism always welcome 👍 Best Regards,
