  1. What actually happaned to all the vehicles, did they get sold off into private hands? There were some real crackers by the look of it but I don't seem to have seen many if any of them since.
  2. Today I went to RAF Cosford as it opened the doors to the Michael Beetham Conservation Centre. You can see where they work on the aircraft and chat to the guys (and girl) who help restore the exhibits. We had a good couple of hours looking around the different exhibits which included a Sopwith Dolphin, Hadley Page Hampden, Spitfire and of course the Wellington Bomber from Hendon. Below are a few picture's from the open day.
  3. No we do about the same as well Steve. Just had a look through my pics from this year and counted 20 different shows!
  4. Was this the one that was pictured in last month's Vintage Spirit magazine at the Balls Cross Charity Rally in West Sussex?
  5. Nice pictures Steve. Always good to see some pictures from events that I can't get to.
  6. It is a good site, I've been to the Staffordshire County Show quite a few times at the venue and that has always seemed to run smoothly. Something a little closer to home means I should be in attendance as it's only ten miles from home for me.
  7. I will see if we have got the programme lying about in the office that has become a storeroom at home, as it could metion something about it in there.
  8. Spotted this one at Hollowell a few years ago.
  9. Cheers. No all that was on the side of it, if I remember correctly, was a sticker saying something like, "The Great Dorset Road Builders". I should imagine it proved to be a pretty good tea hut, but like I say I have never seen it again!
  10. I knew I had some more pictures of Salamander's somewhere. Took this one at RAF Cosford a few years ago, before the Cold War hanger had been built! There had been a show on the week before and this had been left there so they had fenced it off.
  11. This one used to be a regular at Dorset as it always seemed to camp in-front of us! I haven't it seen it for a few years though, so don't know if it's still around?
  12. Just been going through some old picture albums and found this shot of an Autocar that was at the 2005 Great Dorset Steam Fair. It was actually on the road making section of the show, but I have never seen it anywhere again. At least you know there is another one in the country somehwere Jack
  13. Just been going through some old picture albums and came across this shot I took at The Great Dorset Steam Fair in 2004. If I remember the guy drove it all the way from Scotland to the show. Croc will no doubt be able to tell you more.
  14. I was thinking about this the other day as something more midland's based might be better, but then you potentially lose the T's that are already at Dorset as some might only go to that show. Off the top of my head how about Wartime in the Vale (Evesham); Tanks, Trucks and Firepower (Dunchurch) or The Victory Show (Cosby)?
  15. Based on what I read about the 2010 event and looking at the advertisement above I will hopefully get to the 2011 show as it looks like one not to miss!
  16. There are also usually a couple of T's knocking about in the Commercial and Military section at Dorset as well so you could add those to the list as well. The Steam Fair has special yearly collections of specific vehicle's in other area's of the show, such as in the tractor and steam engine sections. It would be great to see something like this at Dorset though!
  17. Cheers Mike. Can I ask were you intending on moving it when these pics were taken, with you having the wheel off?
  18. Yesterday on the M1 going north just by junction 16 I spotted two Dodge WPC's 6x6's on the back of a low loader. The one was red, looked like it had perhaps been in service with a fire service at some point, while the other one was green. Anyone's on here?
  19. Not many I don't think. But as this picture proves you never know as vehicles can turn up anywhere. This one is part of the Manston Fire Museum collection.
  20. Yes I've just found it on streetview. The pics were took during the summer time by the look of it so the hedges would have been in full bloom, just a shame it isn't winter as you would probably have got a better view! Well at least it looks like its still around then. If you could post some more pics up of it that would be great.
  21. Nice pics. Do you still know if it is around? Had a look on google maps over the site but coouldn't really make out what was and wasn't in their yard.
  22. Either at the end of last year or the start of this one (can't remember when it was) I used to drive past it on the way to and from work on occasions. I noticed for a good few weeks that the bonnet was up on it and it looked as if they were working on the engine, while a blue tarp had been put over the cab. £8,000  wow, no wonder no-one has touched it. It's a shame as it should really be saved but don't think I'd be allowed to park it on my drive, as much as I would like to!
  23. Well I will start you off MACCDT. This one above is defiantly still around, being located in Staffordshire.
