  1. Sorry for your loss it sounds like you will enjoy your jeep when you find one as it will remind you of happier times with your father. You could try your local MVT group for someone to supply a jeep for the funeral, they are a great bunch and usually only too glad to help. It also may help you find a jeep for yourself. I am near Grantham Lincs if you get stuck I can dig my jeep out of hibernation with a bit of notice. Good luck for the future.
  2. Frost do a Chassis Black which I have used in the past it is very durable, I topped it off with lashings of Waxoyl.
  3. Welcome to the fold Stu, I usually buy all my parts from Universal Jeep, they offer good quality, fast delivery and above all they're friendly people who go the extra mile to help.
  4. Welcome along, my advice would be join your local MVT group if you haven't already and take someone who knows Jeeps properly with you when you go to view. There are lots of Jeeps around not all of them what they appear to be. Check the engine is holding water as they can have cracks/leaks around the distributor the Ford block seems particularly prone to this. Check the oil pressure when running above idle 40 psi + is good do this when the engine is warm. Check 4wd works along with Hi and Lo, brakes are pulling up squarely and the big issue RUST. Mainly do the checks you would for any second hand vehicle, these trucks are 70+ yrs old so expect issues but that's half the fun Good Luck.
