  7. the stories of allowing sand to be put on wet paint are quite true you can see a example of this on montys humber old faithful in the black paint on the wings

NICK the only way you may find any thing about its wartime service is to see a picture taken during the war of this matador you have its cenus numbers l know its a long shot but you never know l think 1939 late is about right as a build date the contract V3501 ran from 24-8-39 TO ?-7-40 l do not think l can add any more but if l come across any thing l will let you know REGARDS WALLY
  9. what a rare and interesting truck last time l heard about it was when it was in the ownership of nicholson a similar one was sent to india it had a flat roof cab if you did not know its wartime registration was H 133460 IT WAS SAID that late in the war after a rebuild it was change to H 1736O77 l look forward to seeing it progress regards wally

  13. IVOR will know if you ever want the blue and yellow transfers give me a shout l have loads of them and if you ever get to the bottom of who had the quad let us know l may have the original transfers as l used to collect them REGARDS WALLY
  14. A specification sheet dated the 24th june 1965 l have specification sheets with the same spec of paint up to 1970
  15. deep bronze green green or BS 6224 appeared in around the early 1950s and was a military specification number 2012 nearly all vehicles came in this colour as to the bmc engine colour it was called middle bronze green or BS 223
  16. while looking into this l came across mention of the white triangle badge and the the 1st {regular} division it is my opinion that the one you posted to day is post war and when the division was reformed with elements of the 72nd indian as to the first picture said to be the divisional sign l cannot locate a picture in any of my books on the subject also it is not quite the same as the picture you posted one its in white over yellow two the curl looks more like horns than a twist the arm of service is not quite right ie the white line seperating the two colours is no possible some one has touched up the originals badly
