RICHARD is correct Douglas made this model first then Sentinel took over both were powered by the ROLLS B80 there were slight differences between the two one been the metal plates at the top of the wings on the DOUGLAS were steel and had tool lockers built in to them on the SENTINEL these were made from aluminium and if you look you can see the oblong marked out but not used on the plate in the picture

I have now finally up dated the records of sales catalogues and it has surprised me l thought l had 40,000 vehicle sales records the true figure is 109,500 from 1945 to 1949 and a mixture of catalogues from 1919 and the 1950s through to the 1990s some thing like 50,000 so in all 159,500 individual vehicle vehicle sales records this time lot 1679 is interesting

as its illuminated is it to do with exposing the light and obscuring it as it would only be of use in poor or dark conditions when it would be required to be lit

CLIVE l have just looked at the picture on post 19 it appears that a portion of the circle is movable as to obscure the other half ?

the only thing l can think is that you could alter the shape so that they blended in to the surroundings

IS one that can be illuminated and differant coloured lens fitted fo use in poor light
