  1. I am wonder too why diesel?? Till now I was told the fuel was cheap in the USA, we pay something like 7,0 euro for a US gallon of 3,8 liters and we not even consider to change it's. Next to that if you ever want to sell not much interest from Europe I think. One other thing, there is nothing like a dingo or ferret idling on fuel so beautiful running and quite Peter Hommes Dingo owner for over 18 years http://www.milmarket.org
  2. If you transporting a vehicle you often see people taking great care that it will not roll off on the back. How fast do you need to take off to get it rolling off? The thing to worry is when you have to make an emergence stop or you hit something and you stopped at once. Physics (1/2mv2 ) tells you that the amount of energy released at that moment is massive. If the Vehicle weights 1000 kilos the stress the robe(s) from the back has to take will access of 80 tons when you travel at 30 miles. Incase you hit something and stopped at once, be more afraid what comes form the back. I have seen a JEEP coming through the driver cabin and stop only half way. Also the Jeep was shortened by 30 cm's (1 ft) Happy pottering around in the MV's Peter Hommes http://www.milmarket.org
  3. Towing Dingo/Ferret is a special one. If you are no careful you will break the gearbox when towing it. If you have to, take care the transfer case is in neural else you blow the gearbox. Although the Dingo and Ferret look small you can not push them a round, they are just to heavy. The reason you will blow it, has to do that all special gears are running at full speed when you tow it, even when the box is in neutral. Because the box is in neutral the gearbox oil pump which is at the engine end is not working so there is no lubrication in the box when towed. 5. I owned one in the early days C4 early warning. I had to bodies for it one W/T and the early waring one. I sold the lot including all the very hard to find 19 set HP all special arial bases, adaptor plates, switchboard, generator etc . New owner made a mess out of it. Now it is the early warning one with BBC marks. I picked it up in Sweden and still feeling sorry to what the new owner did with it could had been the best. Regards Peter Hommes www.milmarket.org
  6. I think they haven't stop when hit the wooden crate. The went into it to look, if it was worthwhile to go on with the project. There is much more known than we know. Cameron will look a bit silly, when it works out to be a pile of old scrap metal, where he putted his time into. Peter www.milmarket.org
  7. Dingo 19 set shouldn't have decals because they are on Canadian or USA sets. The best possible combination is: - British Mk III T 19 set (normal ones are difficult to find, but this is nearly impossible to find, that's why most have Can. sets) - Canadian Mk III PU (viberator version make less noise when receiver is working) - Vario meter with special adaptor to go through the hull straight into the A set aerial support bracket.
