  1. there are some very sad people in the world that do very wierd things, fortunatly none of us are in that catogary;)
  2. have bought two in the last three months, one for £3.00 at a car boot sale in Essex and one for £2.50 at a charity shop in Rayleigh, both dated 1944. thay are out there and i might have another soon from the lady who runs the shop.
  3. Sorry no photos. Went to a boot sale Sunday at Leigh on Sea and bought two pair of battledress trousers one pair 37 pat, one pair 49 pat size 32 waist and 34 waist, both pair spotless two buttons missing plus one pair of dpm combat trousers again perfect and one neck warmer total cost £3.50 THATS RIGHT £3.50 PLUS for 50p one metal case spare valves No5 z.a.10418 very slight rust, clear markings catch and canvas handle perfect, could hardly belive my luck, cannot wait for next Sunday.

  6. road the works ariel arrow at brands hatch in the 60s and dropped it on oil at paddock bend, hence one BROKEN ARROW only time i ever came off was told if you don"t fall off you aint going quick enough, thats it i am afraid.
  7. I might very well be wrong but Watsonian built sidecars that i belive would be correct, did Norton actualy build sidecars themselves or ere thay supplyed by Watsonian, Dennis Heath motorcycles, fourth cross road Twickenham had loads of that stuff years ago and are still going.
  8. brilliant job but first photo doe"s have clipped wings as stated in one comment shame its a none flyer but hay ho. dont think i could take 28yrs on a project, have enough trouble with one small vehicle.

In 1946 40 Spitfire mk 21s were sent to Shoeburyness, allmost every aircraft had only approxamitly 5 or 6hrs of recorded flight time, doe"s anyone have any info on what happend to these aircraft, photos of them or remember seeing them there. Have looked on google earth all over the ranges nothing showing not to say there is nothing there, can see some tanks and other AFVs near the buildings and have seen a couple of tanks being taken in through the gates last September when we were over visiting our sons 2012. plus the ammo train every Tuesday morning.

  11. trained as a Grand Prix motorcycle mechanic in the 60s, company pulled out so joined HM Forces 9yrs, next trained as a carpenter, sold my company and moved to Spain were the wife and i own two very large resturants and a small Hotel in France and after that i will at some point pop my clogs, its been a great life so far.:nut:

  13. Had a mate 1959 that bought a 1944 willys direct from the USN the only colour on that right back to base coat was gray and ALL lettering was white and have seen another with blue lettering, so who knows for sure.

  15. Hi ROSEY, A bit of quality work there, looks very nice, sons have a very tallented mum. Only just discoverd that you live on Hayling Island my wife and i spent many, many happy weekens there in our caravan at Fishery Lane camp site, many a pint was supped in the Hayling Billy, the Yew tree and the Ferryboat loved the island then moved to Spain were we own Bars and restaurants now, inspite of the problems here it is a wonderfull place to live, enough rambling, wishing you, hubby and your family a wonderfull Christmas, FELIZ NAVIDAD from Spain to everyone on HMVF.

  17. you may well find 20ft lengths very difficult to come by, even new a lot of timber yards will only supply to order this is on the assumption that you are talking of 4x2 timbers or 6x2s as you did not state just wot it was you required in said lengths.

  24. Anyone on here going to the event at the Parsons Barn, Shoeburyness on Saturday 22nd, advert on Essex mvt looks realy good, hope to see some of you and your vehicles.
