  3. Hi all am home from Beltring and have now dried out bought this water heater and could do with some translation please. Also what were they used for ?
  4. Oh so normaly on the road it only drives the rear wheels ( 2WD ) so you should not be suffering heat build up due to wind up in the t/fer box. Is the problem heat or just the oil being expelled through the breather, is there a baffel missing below the breather ? like you get on some rocker covers on cars !!!!! Is this a widespread problem, do others suffer from it, are you over filling it ?
  5. Try Rex Ward he IS Mr DUKW web site is http://www.dukw.co.uk
  6. No you do not right click. In photobucket when you have a pic you want to put in to, say a forum, you go to your file in photobucket and below it you will see "IMG Code" if you LEFT click on that just once, you will see it says "Copied" you then go back to the forum and get the cursor where you want the pic, then Right click "Paste" and the code will be copied to that point. So when you upload that post to the forum the code links the pic in photobucket to the forum and hey presto the pic appears in the forum. Hope this helps.
  7. Do you think the oil is getting that hot that it is boiling and so getting out through the breather ? What does the transfer box do in your vehicle, ie what does it link to what ? Are you sure you have the correct oil in it ?
  8. Hi all myself and Jack have used this person too and from Bolero and found him to be very efficent and ties things on tight. The Haulage Company is: M.G.M. Haulage Specialist mover of Classic Trucks and Coaches. Est. 1952
  9. Here is Nordian's web site http://www.nordianservices.com/
  10. Not rearly sure how this bevel box works but I reacon looking at how thin some of those shimms are they are to set the correct pre load on the bevel box bearings and has nothing to do with the spline engagement of the shaft, I will also be up at Beltring so could put in my two pennith if you like.
  11. This Fuel pump is a 2 valve model off a CCKW352, but may well have been fitted to many different vehicles, it is made by AC. To remove the fuel pump there are the 2 fuel lines ( remember to turn off the fuel tap !!!! ) 2 fixing bolts which need to be removed, the fixing bolt nearest to the front is hollow which has the oil line from the bottom of the oil filter screwed into it as seen below. To remove this oil line you need to hold the nut part nearest the hose to prevent it from turning and then turn the other nut nearest the end, do this at both ends then remove oil line from each fitting ( NOTE you wont get covered in oil when the bottom hose is removed ) You can then undo both bolts and remove the fuel pump. Here is the pump split in half without the diaphragm and the top filter bowel removed Here is the top part of the fuel pump with bowel on but with bowel clamp removed Here is the top part with the bowel removed This is the underside showing the two valves This is the new diaphragm and spring This is up the wrong way up in relation to the mounted position of the fuel pump but you can now see the rectangular hole in the shaft of the diaphragm this has to hook under the opperating lever in the base part of the fuel pump body as in the pic below Once this is done then you can reassemble the fuel pump and as they say the fitting is the reverse of the removal. An interesting thing I have found is that in the base part of the fuel pump there is a raised lip this I think is to stop fuel if the diaphragm splits from getting in to the engine and diluting the oil This lip coupled with the washers and leather seals on the diaphragm shaft Helps to seal the route to the engine also in the top pic at 12 o'clock there is a hole by the fuel priming lever and this I believe is a weep hole to allow any fuel to escape and indicate there is a problem with the diaphragm rather than just pouring into the engine..
  12. Tank now in painted green and we have done some miles using it and does appear to be leak free, so a good bit of kit from the French Army... R Cubed
  13. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm Got any details of it then, pics e-mail etc how much .....
  14. Would this problem be negligence on behalf of the driver as the towed vehicle would have only been able to do a Max of 45MPH normally and also the fact of having Left hand wheel nuts on the nearside which would have been traveling backwards, speaking to a haulier the other day of 50 odd years experience with classic trucks etc, he said it was common practice to use jubilee clips on 4 of the wheel nuts and linking them so they could not turn, although he said the correct way would be to carry out a front suspend and remove propshafts so no connection to transmission, he also commented on the towed speed as it was an old truck and not capable of modern highway speeds. Need to see the drivers Tacho this would indicate the speed at the time of the incident as shortly after that it would indicate a stop !!!!!! Just my thoughts out loud

  20. Hmmmmm since convoying at Bolero I seemed to have trouble to keep up with other GMC's on hills ect they seam to just steadily pull away, in the next few months I am going to sort this out I think its a timing problem, having driven Jacks truck it seems to rev very freely and pull well from low down even on 4 or 5 cylinders, I am mistifyed by this, more investigation is required stay tuned...
