  1. Right, thats that then, no fried bread and mushrooms for you then ;-)
  2. Thanks for your concern, it looks much worse in the pic than it actually is, all the dodgy looking bits are just rust where the silver paint has flaked off. No signs of left over food on it anywhere. soon to get a wash down with bleach anyway just incase and a bit of a tart up on the paint ready for maximum use in 2008.
  3. A pilot light, a pilot light, :shake: I reacon I could lift a hot air balloon with it, obviously a military spec pilot light then :-D
  4. Can somone explain to me how to use this infernal contraption ;-) There are several variable controls, gas, air control and pully pushy knobs :shake: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h211/R_Cubed/Frontcontrols1.jpg[/img] What is the purpose of the centre brown burner in the middle always being on when the gas valve is open ? http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h211/R_Cubed/Gasrings.jpg[/img] More complicated green stuff to put in the truck
  5. Same goes for me, as all of the above apply. Also the open type cab is wider than the closed by about a foot, I have a closed cab rubber mat in my open cab and it is short of each side by about 6 inches. You can get 3 adults in the open cab if you are friendly dont thnik you could do that in the closed cab and get the doors shut !!!!!!!!
  6. This will be the new addition after the HUGE TENT which I am off to pick up the week after next :-) For the R3 camping dept, so I am hoping for some good old fry ups for next year at the shows ...
  7. Yep thats what I herd, has also been to the Guildford cruise some years ago, not herd of it for some time now ..
  8. Yes I am sure it is the same car, only a few years ago, He thew the engine in the car with some old SU's as he did not get the propper carbs when he got the engine, this was to fit engine and work out bits and bobs and to trial the drive train ect and sort out the chassis ect. Now he is going through the car to sort it properly and cosmeticaly to finish it off. If you want a REAL Merlin powered car try this.................. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5yB3U9gGW0 Happy watching....
  9. Try this link, all about the guy who has put the Meteor in his Rover SD1. Ive been to see him and chatted for about 3 or 4 hours, time flys when you are having fun..... http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?p=1&f=23&t=245424&h=0
  10. No No you got the wrong end of the stick, look at the pic very closley the gun rings on the wrong side over the cab and the spare wheel is on the wrong side as well..... Suspect the pic has been reversed !!
  11. Changing the subject a bit I see the HMVF advert has a very very rare GMC then, am I mistaken but the one in the pic is right hand drive ;-)
  12. Is this oil new in the drum, could the sealed drum have suffered from condensation and got in to the oil so when it's very hot the water in the oil boils and froths the oil ???? My GMC transfer box gets so hot you can only just bear your hand on it and that does not expell oil out of the breather, it has Morris AG90 in it no bronze eating additives.
  13. What about stacking another OT-90 on top I think I have seen some pics some where like that..
  14. wooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww wwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee so coool well done my boy................ r cubed
  15. Very well said Lawson, The C47 and the 101'st guy's went sooo well together and the excursion out to the sentry box on Sunday to lay wreaths made it all the more real for me and was very moving...................... Congrats to putting on a show like that as said above, if only people knew how hard it is to get this sort of equipment in the right place at the right time they might appreciate it all the more......
  16. I have a copy of the above dated 1986 No 1078 The Road Vehicles (Construction and use) Regulations 1986 184 pages of contradictions !!!!
  17. Just to through another track pad in the works, if you had rubber track pads like a 432 has, and the weather was hot, you carry out a turn and as the rubber pads are grippy on the tarmac it rips it up surley you are still liable, where as steel tracks could just scrap over the surface :dunno:
  18. He He Ho Ho we are ready. Where are we meeting, in Upottery or Smeatharpe at the airfield :dunno: I am lost already and I havent even left the house yet
  19. The petrol parraffin seems to be the best and at 50/50 it is also more useable than just petrol, a friend has just droped off a radiator so I am going to sort out some pipe and have a radiator in the tent, he he. Trying to sus out the shower bit will pop in to a chalndry at some stage.
  20. Thanks for the advice, might try Petrol and diesel ?? that might be a good combination or might try the petrol paraffin one we shall see, stay tuned for the loss of eye brows !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant believe how quick it heats the water up and so much of it as well... Looks like I have made a good buy. Could bring it to uppottery look out for the stinky smokey tent but loads of hot water.....
  21. The local kraz is still a bit on the pricy side but I have not rearly looked in to the price of the Reo's either yet but we will see.
  22. God no, a friend of mine has had this for years and was going to get rid of it but is now interested in trying to get the missing bit, the engine and pump unit ??
  23. Had a good old chat with the Russian truck guy at Beltring and they are a bit on the pricy side so might be toooo dear to get still think they look well cool and hard as nails, also been looking at the US stuff ( Reo's ) 5 ton multi fuel cargo quite a bit faster than the kraz as well as still being in keeping with my CCKW truck. Whats the multi fuel Reo's like ?
  24. Well I have just come in from risking life and limb by trying to light the beast and after a bit of messing about got it to go, all I have to say is that running it on diesel its a bit smokey but god it rearly does heat the water up, I filled the bin full and after about 1 hr it was at the point of constant bubbles out of the water, so next step is to try parrafin to see if I can reduce the smoke, if I can work out how to pump the water we will have the HMVF mobile shower unit ;-) and we might even have a radiator in the tent to dry stuff, in this weather we will need it :schocked:
