Great photo's Andy, thank's for sharing but rather sad to see.

Well that settles that then :schocked: we know who the boss is, I've never heard of pigs in trousers but ferrets........... :-D

In days gone by Aberdeen overdrive was the cause of many serious truck accidents.

Driven one of these many times........one of the best seats you are likely to sit on!
Don,t remember sitting on the seat much, we always used to stand up behind the seat to get enough leverage on the steering  :-D

I have always been very happy with S-O-F, quality and comfort excellent.

I stand corrected Grasshopper, I thought it looked rather like a Maudsley cab but I see what you mean about the rad.
-
I hope when it,s restored that the owner is able to find a proper Matador cab for it.
-
I can't say for certain about your Morris but I think British vehicles were pos earth until some time in the sixties.
-
Yes Spood you are correct regarding Asnelles (Le Hamel). The wrecks museum at Port en Bessin is a must, make sure you leave enough time to watch the video showing. The 360 degree cinema at Arromanches is brilliant and as you are going  :-D

I am not so sure about not needing a low loader for the Half track Jack, between fuel consumption and track wear I don't think you would want to drive any distance on the road. I am not trying to put you off, Half tracks have always been one of my favourites but practicality has always been the problem.

Selling stolen property, it is illegal to remove sand, shingle etc from a beach.

I listened to some of Jeremy Vine's show this morning but didn't hear any thing from Jack. The whole incident appears to have been handled badly by the authorities but there is no doubt that looting has occured and as was pointed out by a contributor to the show if it had been wartime looters could have been shot and it was suggested that this should have happened. Listening to a local lady it was obvious the upset that had occured in the village and crimes had taken place, something which had not happened there for a long period. The local people were also very upset about the amount of rubbish discarded on the beach as looters stripped packaging from the goods.

Neil, the Army admitted they kept going on fire.

The Russians produced a copy of the DUKW. As for the Stalwart, who would design a vehicle to carry fuel and ammo and put the exhaust in close proximity, an obvious recipe for disaster.

The 'wrecks museum' at Port en Bessin is well worth a visit, I think it is one of the best museums, there is a film running constantly which is very interesting, you need most of a morning or afternoon to see everything properly. Incidentally a lot of the museums are in a price reduction scheme so make sure you read the ticket details and keep your tickets to claim discount when you visit another museum.

Hi Tyler Have you tried Richards 01302 351060, http://www.richarsdschassis.co.uk ?
They advertise galvanised but may be able to supply non-galv.
-
Have you checked the distributor cap for tracking and also the carbon brush and spring in the top of the cap?

Have a look at http://www.glass-uk.org go to site map and then code of conduct. If you intend using the Salisbury Plain area I would recommend finding someone with local knowledge as it is very easy to wander off the rights of way and the MOD police and wardens are very vigilant, it has been known for vehicles to be confiscated.

Some good news for achange Berni. :-)

If you are going to use byways please stick to the Green Laning Code and don't run in groups of more than 4 or 5 vehicles.

Get a GMC Tyler, it would go nicely behind a 352
Umm, gearboxes...
in I may be stupid, but......

With a GMC you need to double de-clutch and get the revs right and with a bit of practice you will find it as smooth as silk.
