Matt if you could buy the scraper in Bayeux I could rent you a trailer to bring it back

Matt, I think Jim's is a D7 but if I'm wrong he'll no doubt correct me when he sees this thread.
-
No not daft of you Snapper I couldn't remember either  :-D

Hi Matt
Jim and Martin at Allied Forces have recently acquired one for restoration and I am fairly sure that one towing a box scraper appeared at War and Fleece last year.
There was one (a D7 I think) on the beach at Le Hamel in 2004 which may have been British owned and also in 2004 in a field adjacent to the Bayeux museum there was a box scraper which had olive drab showing under it's later yellow, this was just crying out for restoration.

The red ones are French fire engines. :-D

Glad to hear you are getting the hang of it, because Fifth gear is an overdrive and close in ratio to fourth the change down needs to be done quickly with only a slight blip on the throttle, the other down changes are done a little slower but you still have to be fairly quick if climbing a steep hill, especially loaded.

Give him 500 lines Jack......'I must learn differentiate ..........etc'

Clive, it's a LWB S111, if you can't come up with a diagram let me know and I will have a root around at work ,I think we might have one somewhere.

Hi Tim, I am sure Karoshi is correct with his diagnosis, I have known these joints last for years knocking away but they can also fail catastrophically and my advice would be to replace the joint before driving the jeep again.

You're welcome.

I see Joris now owns a jeep and a jimmy and has also morphed into some person closely resembling myself.
Anybody know any thing about Dutch copywright law :schocked:  :-D

Mike, please ignore my previous comments re Dick, suffering from brain fade, his bolster is a GMC
-
Hi Mike, I think Dick Shepard may have a bolster truck amongst his collection of GMC's.
I don't have any contact details for him but somebody on here must know.

More or less Mark, the Diamond T was classed at 4tons and normally came with a 151" wheelbase, the 975 model was stretched to 201" and was supplied only to Canada.

I don't think the services want these scumbags, they want professionals. I agree with John bring back the birch, prison with hard labour and capital punishment. Hang 'em high.
-
It might be a good idea to get another GMC owner to try your gearbox, there must be other owners in your general area, any body on the forum in Epsom area that could help?

That poem says it all. Thanks for posting.

It can always be worse, could be a blizzard. :-D Unfortunately I won't be there this year, no vehicle, and one of our local shows has changed dates and now clashes with your show.
