Paul I have used their products with complete satisfaction in all sorts of plant, machinery and trucks for more years than I care to remember, usual disclaimer.

Hi Paul Have a look at Morris Lubricants web site, the straight 30 grade is ideal for the GMC engine so I would expect it to be equally suitable for the Chev. They also do a straight 90 grade, don.t use an EP90 it reacts with Phosphor bronze in the transmission.

It is almost certain that the steerig problem lies in the relay but do NOT attempt to dismantle it for repair, it will bite!

HMVRR (Roadside Rescue) or HMVRA (Roadside Assistance)

Many CCKW's were rebuilt by the French Army and metric sizes were used on some items, possibly other European armies may have also done this.

Whilst the story of an aircraft may be true I very much doubt that it would have been a Mosquito, too early in the war.

Good to see you here John, you could put in a bid as Windscreen editor, that might put a cat among the pigeons.

Vanderveen says 3250lb (1kg equals approx 2.2lbs)

I agree with your thinking Tim and I think it is largely tongue in cheek but if the proposer is the A Jones that is the Windscreen editor if these proposals do upset a lot of members then he might just have compromised his bid for re-election.

I call mine thrombosis...........A bl--dy clot that wanders indiscriminately round the system causing chaos.

Jack I think you have answered this yourself, most of the time you are OK so you have obviously mastered the technique but when you are aware of somebody watching you are thinking about it too much and trying too hard. Having said that everybody that I know crunches the gears on a jimmy from time to time.
-
You are very welcome Jack, there is really no need to add anything just enjoy your trip.
-
You have my sympathy Berni, I thought I was treated badly but that is bl--dy ridiculous.

Don't need the Met Office to forecast it , I could have done it months ago because we've just started lambing.

Come on Jack that's ridged not ploughed, some countryman :schocked: :-D

Makes my mouth water Jim, especially after you've dropped the 290 in, I'd love to drive that rig. : 8-)

Paul you can get warning lights from any autto electrical factor, or I should think Halfords would have them. Sorry I can't help regarding the brackets but if you go on the CCKW site Steve aka Dr Deuce will know if they are the same.
-
Hi Matt, yes I have got a couple of pics but unfortunately the were not taken digitally and I don't have a scanner.
-
Try Martin or Jim at Allied Forces, they may be able to help you.
-
Oh yes very nice, sounds like it might be a fuel problem .

But if the weather's good I can take the credit ;-)

Before the days of the internet the letters pages of enthusiasts magazines were full of the sort of comments/arguments that are raised here, there is nothing new. There are undoubtedly faults with the MVT but man has never attained complete perfection with anything and until something better then a committee is thought of wemust accept the imperfections.
An old saying comes to mind, "You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time"
This is not meant as a defence of or attack on the MVT or any other group or organisation, merely an observation on human nature.
