I'm sure it was an American but can't remember the name.

Hi Steve.
Yes , it appears to be the 76mm gun Sherman with the larger turret and HVSS suspension.
-
I've got it on DVD in B&W.
-
It comes originally from Shakespeare, Henry V I think.
-
Are you sure about the AC/DC Berniand does Russ know? :? :-D
-
I'm afraid when it comes to it most people won't actually DO anything, even if it just means putting pen to paper.
Matt.
.
Unfortunately Matt you are absolutely right there, Maes Artro springs to mind but as Artists Rifles said money counts and of course 'influence'

I get the same message.
I deleted 'history' and 'temporary internet files', is this the same as cookies?
Excuse my computer non-skills, I prefer things with engines.
No, right click on your internet icon on main screen, left click on properties, then on screen that comes up you can clear files, cookies and history. I too am a computer dunce but this is one of the few things I have learned, you need to do it regularly, it only takes a few seconds but is quite important. If you have any problems let me know and I will lead you thro' the procedure.
Cheers

Sorry to hear about your mishap but glad you are now on the mend, now you will have to learn to live with it as once you've done your back it is vulnerable for the duration.

Never bothered with bulbs in the dash, at a guess I think they would be SCC 5w.
I seem to remember Rex having diodes but your local auto electric factor should have them. As you were told previously the choice of coil comes down to whether you want the old 'acorn' type of coil connector or the modern push in type, you just need a basic coil, no ballast resistors etc.

Can't remember the price last year but when I started to buy fuel it was costing me less than 20p per GALLON!

I met a lot of vets in Normandy in 2004 and noticed a great difference between those men who had returned frequently to the area and those who were there for the first time.It appeared that the frequent returnees had come to terms with wartime events and were totally at peace with themselves whereas the 'first timers' had suffered
considerably over the years and had been unable to express any of their feelings to anybody. However when I was speaking to them the stories just poured out, one of the wives said to me that she had never heard any of it before except for snatches shouted out in the nightmares. I felt very humbled and I sincerely hope that in making the pilgrimage and at last being able to talk about their experiences that it will bring them some relief in their twilight years.

Couldn't agree with you more Enigma , something wrong with priorities today.

Certainly gives food for thought, very moving, thanks for posting Joris.

Ok Degs.
Have some questions for you
What ampage (is that a word?) battery do I need for my Jimmy now that we have gone up to 12 volt will I need to change the dash lights?
Also, I remember you saying something about the fuel gauge?? :?
Nearly, the word is amperage :-), I can,t remember what capacity we used, just get the highest capacity battery that will fit in the carrier. The battery used for the TD5 diesel in Land rovers is 100 amp and allowing for the much higher compression rario on a modern diesel this should be more than enough for a jimmy. You need to change all bulbs and you need to fit a diode in the fuel gauge circuit to lower the voltage. Disconnect the fuel gauge before you fit a battery and don't reconnect it until you are sure you have dopped the voltage on that circuit or you'll have a 'Kentucky' sender unit.

Not many left, Israel and Syria?

Simple sums it up nicely. :-D

The K4 was a common civi truck in the fifties so I would try the Historic Commercial people ,they may be able to help you.
-
Yes, you need to get a 12v coil, don't know any thing about 3 wires on top of the alternator, you need to take the main feed off the large terminal on the alternator to the starter switch and a wire from the small terminal to the ignition switch, this circuit MUST have a warning light incorpirated into it. This is just from memory Jack as of course I have no vehicle to refer to.
-
Yes, read the destruction book and disconnect the battrey before you touch anything! :-D

Looks like a Matador but the cab is definitely not original, I recognise the cab but can't remember for sure what it's off.

That quatation was nagging me so I Googled it, Mark Twain was the person Iwas thinking of but although it has been commonly attributed to him amongst others the University of York Maths dept has been researching it and it appears to come from an earlier period. They now attribute it to a woman I and probably no one else on this forum has ever heard of but having read their discourse on the subject it looks to me as if it has been around for much longer than is generally thought and the woman is merely quoting an earlier author.
