I know your right Tony which is why I said £50 -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182448529585?ul_noapp=true Its a start if you can get it for £50 ? chassis has been cut down & I'm not sure its got the correct hubs / axle ? but spring hangers are correct.

I'm in discussion by email with Ron's mate Lex & there's a chance that a batch of repos where the rifle sits on top of the handle bars may be made in the near future ?

restoration BSA Para Bike & BSA War Time Finish Bicycles
Ian L replied to Ian L's topic in Blogs of MV restorations
Saved another Men's BSA 'War Time Finish' bike yesterday in fantastic original condition plus period dynamo lighting & war grade tyres (seller fitted the modern saddle) From my research this is early WW2 as it has rubber pedals & a lovely BSA headstock badge, later in the war they went to a BSA decal on the headstock & wooden pedals. The reason these men's bikes are so rare is they are broken up for parts as the tyres, wheels, rear sprocket, brake levers, cables, handle bars grips & saddle are the same as the Para Bike. -
question WW2 Air Ministry Airborne Compressor Trailer
Ian L replied to Ian L's topic in Trailers, plant and equipment
Saved this postwar (1960 ish) compressor trailer yesterday which will be very useful for parts in the restoration of my prewar one. The roof assembly is almost the same plus the legs, jockey wheel & towhitch. -
question WW2 Air Ministry Airborne Compressor Trailer
Ian L replied to Ian L's topic in Trailers, plant and equipment
Done some research & found that this one is pre-war (about 1936) and converted from a petrol engine to electric motor quite early on in its life, correct me if I'm wrong please. -
This guy on ebay is making repos & listing them as WW1 but when I sent him a message about the WW2 clips he said these are also WW2 as the pattern he used & still has is dated 1942. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361890005737?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Picked up the bike this morning & its in much better condition that the photos showed, nice big chunky pedals. Anyone know what the stencilling means ? and date it from the frame number ?
-
Hi Ron PM sent to Les but nothing back yet, cant find a date on the rack. I love 'the chase' its almost the best bit of restoration :undecided:
-
Went round to see a mate today at his scrap yard to 'chew the fat' and as I went into the porch to knock the front door laying on the floor was this cycle rack. Unbelievable that one turned up within 24 hours of finding the bike. Now all I need are the gun clips like the ones in these 'library' photos
-
Hi Ron could PM or email me his email address please mate, cheers Ian
-
Hi Alex I'm resurrecting this thread as I now have myself a BSA mk5 (well on Sunday I will) what can you tell me about this bike such as what's missing ? And where might I get some rifle clips from ? original or repo ? Regards Ian
