  1. Hi I assume this is the web-site http://www.airbornebattlewheels.nl/category/agenda/ ? No dates are mentioned just Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday which I assume is 14th-17th September ?
  2. Hi guys I was planning to attend the Arnhem events this September 2017 for the 1st time with my camper van & a couple of WW2 bikes. Question #1 what are the best dates to attend ? for main parades & commemoration etc ? Question #2 Is there a group I can tag onto that are not 24/7 re-enactors but just enthusiast's that want to ride around and visit places ?
  3. Like this one ? some photos of yours might help ? http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/showthread.php?t=12403
  4. 22.23mm (0.875in) wide. 7.15mm (0.281in) thick. Don't know the length. I would of thought these were easy enough to find but not by part number of the dynamo by the looks.
  5. Probably too late for you but there's another on ebay & its going sky high again !! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152443957854?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT When I started looking 6 years ago £50 was the tops now they seem to go over £150  lets see what this one fetch's ?
  6. Thats very good Larry, I'd never given it any thought before but they are very good points
  7. Knocked up the tool box today thanks to Simons detailed drawings : I decided to glue & join it together with copper tacks so that the seems don't open up although I know this is wrong. It will have the internal 'L' brackets & coach bolts added later for effect & originally.
  8. Picked up some more machined ash today, the 2 front uprights.
  9. Just collected the ash for the windscreen & door top rails from the machine shop, all machined to the correct diameters so I can cut the angles, lengths & other little bits. I don't think they were ever going to hold another tack or screw for the canvas cover again.
  10. Hi Chris, yes I had forgotten about Frank. I've seen him on face-book often enough so I'll have a word & if he's willing I'll take the tilly up on a car trailer when I'm feeling better. Cheers. Oh P.S. you've just re-mined me !! I had forgotten about the 2nd bonnet.
  11. I don't think my post required a reply plus your likes & dislikes of TV presenters has nothing to-doing with this thread.
  12. Your opinion, I personally think the Jeremey Vine show is very good & listen as often as possible.
  13. I need some CAV DBNB dynamo brushes for my K5 & all I can find on ebay is this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/C-A-V-SPARE-PARTS-LIST-DYNAMOS-TYPES-DBCA-DBNB-LIST-D-31-/292033633789?hash=item43fe8f9dfd:g:41oAAOSwZjJU31QJ And I cant find any on the internet, where can I get some from ? cheers
  14. Hi Ron your right, just got the rack back from the blasters today & its stamped: F.A & S Ltd MK 1VB 1944 Its very very faint & so I can't get a photo of it but I think that's what it reads ?
  15. Cheers Wally I guess this is the book ? https://www.abebooks.co.uk/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=5847526222 Lets hope the dating officer has it otherwise I've got to fork out £35
  16. Hi guys were will I find the information for dating a QL chassis ? My QL chassis number is QLR45600 but the V5c says 1st registered 11:03:1968 which means it needs an MOT (according to the DVLA) If I get a dating certificate from the MVT they will amend the V5c and then it will be Tax & MOT exempt as its pre 1960. What book or document will the inspector need to find in-order to date it.
  17. Cheers Kevin, amazing they made everything from the classis AC Cobra to the blue invalid carriage & trailers in the war.
  18. Another lucky find, I won this makers plate on ebay a few days ago. Its exactly the same plate as the one on the bowser in the Luxembourg museum, anyone know anything about AC cars ? were they the makers of the AC Cobra ? which I thought was American.
  19. Hi Peter nice interior photos of a box, I think I recognise it ?
  20. Hi Richard thanks for the heads up on the drive shaft issue, I have just joined the Stationary engine forum so we will see what turns up. Cheers Ian
  21. Hi Richard I've been doing a bit of homework & consensus is that it may of been fitted with the Petter PU8 ? which is period & had a military application. https://wn.com/petter_pu8_flat_twin_stationary_engine One of the Petter Universal group of engines produced from 1931 to 1945. This is an 8HP horizontal twin version. Large numbers were supplied to the War Department duriung the second world war where they were used to power generators and also landing craft. This example has a WD tag and number. There are two power shafts, one at at 900rpm and one at 1800rpm. Anyway correct or not that's the motor I will be looking for if anybody knows of one for sale ?
