question WW2 22KW Generator Trailer. Any info please
Ian L replied to Ian L's topic in Trailers, plant and equipment
Hi Richard I think your photo could be one of these larger generator trailers with a swan neck draw bar, the one in my photo is smaller & has a straight draw bar. (if you recognise the location of these photos please don't post it, cheers) -

Would be interested to see a service photo of a complete one. -
You beat me to it Nick, I was typing while you were posting but we are both of the same opinion.

Hi Andy I've done 3 bikes & 2 vehicles in the past 12 months so getting very used to this, no MOT required & infact its not possible to MOT them now as they are not on the system anymore. Dating cert from MVT or owners club, get it insured on the chassis number & send off to DVLA with appropriate forms & cheque, you might get a V5 back but in my case an independent inspector was sent round on 4 of the 5 inspections. The vehicle needs to be complete, original & all together if an independent inspector comes round otherwise he wont pass it, that's my experience. Regards Ian

Thanks Graham Richard & Gordon I will have another look at that tap tomorrow & get back to you. Guy I got your Face Book message too. It was like the blind leading the blind at the Victory show last year (wasn't it Nicky) bits got dropped in the grass etc. too many cooks spoil the broth & all that.

Cheers guys I've had another go  It will start and run on 'easy start' but dies out soon after I stop spraying, I've fiddled with the jet on the top of the carb and that makes a massive difference but I still don't get how it will carry on sucking the fuel up & keep running ? I'm missing the plot here please tell me
-
Hi guys I bought this charging set a few years ago but only just got round to starting it up. The problem is that it wont carry on running past a few seconds before it peters out (fuel not ignition) and for the life of me I cannot see how the engine draws the fuel up from the tank as there is no fuel pump & not pressurisation system like a Tilly lamp. I'm missing something here ? but what ?

On the lookout for one of these, it's a mega light weight Freedom Discovery caravan (looking for the LE model) max gross weight 750kg  I'm not going to rough it in a tent anymore at shows. :-D I might even get it 'wrapped' to look like a WW2 airfield control van (from a distance) with wind sock etc  -

Hi Sean I put the feelers out a year ago and tried to sell it as a complete package but it did work out & even then I was going to loose £1,500 on what its cost me. This way other QL's can be put back on the road & I may even make a bit, the engine will up for sale hopefully this summer once I've painted & test run it up in the test rig. Unless I receive a good offer for the unfinished cab the intention is to finish it off slowly to a very high standard & sell as a ready to fit & go cab with doors, windows, bonnet & all the interior engine panels. I think there are a lot of people out there that may be interested Regards Ian

restoration Standard UV Tilly 12hp Light Utility 4x2
Ian L replied to Ian L's topic in Blogs of MV restorations
Spending all this time off with a back injury is allowing me to troll the internet & I had another lucky find. Looking for someone to make brake linings I found a seller advertising N.O.S linings for £70 + £3.30 postage but no photo & when they turned up they were complete set of 8 shoes & Linings -

question Morris C8 with Bigend gone. whats it worth ?
Ian L replied to Ian L's topic in British Vehicles
That's the bit that concerns me but in this case the engine still has good oil pressure even with the knocking, anyway I don't intend to do a rebuild that's for the next owner. Cheers Ian -

Definitely #7 7 buy a ex military vehicle , drive to show , put on a display ( this includes tents , fly sheets , camo nets/poles, ammo boxs , ect)

Hi Guys just had some interest from a guy that wants to buy my C8. If it was still up & running I would of valued it at £8000-£10,000 ? but a bigend has gone & I'm not too well at the moment & I have to many other vehicles to look after & restore. What would you pay for it ? value at ? ball park figure.

news Another WW2 150/180 gallon water bowser for sale.
Ian L replied to Ian L's topic in Trailers, plant and equipment
Price lowered again, down to £350 now, I have no interest in this & don't know the seller. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Steam-engine-water-cart-/172471115169?hash=item2828145da1:g:h68AAOSw6DtYXU3t -
NOW FOR SALE. Due to temporary I'll health she's going up for sale in the near future. Unfortunately on the way home from W&P last year she developed a minor knocking but because I had loaned it out to 'friends' they kept driving until it developed into a major fault & I think she's knocked out a big end bearing. Ideal winter / summer project.:nut:
