  1. Im on there now, and as suspected I am out in the middle of nowhere, being at least 50 miles away from anyone else!
  2. Thats the great thing about this place. As well as taking the P** out of people as well! :dancinggirls:
  3. £500 including transport from York...howz that grab ya! :-D
  4. Hi, Ian, Its not very nimble to say the least! It originally got sold by P A Blanchard when it got demobbed. I see they have one up for sale there at £2950 + VAT. I didnt pay anything like that, so if I can sell it in the future at somewhere near there I shall be more than happy. :-D
  5. Thanks for the leads, especially landroverorphanage. Im trying to find the pair of blue lights which fit in the bumper if anyones watching! Also drivers/owners manual on cd. I need to do a bit of dash rewiring and theres a few knobs which are unknown to me, and I cant find the blue flashy light button for the roof!

  7. What did you want to transport Kyle? I just used a company to Transport my ambulance from York to North Bucks which were good.
  8. I take it you work for DVLA?
  9. Im sure someone said they were going to type up the details of this over the wekend......
  10. Yes I was Mike. I wouldnt even entertain the idea of the one with the saggy bottom. Im waiting on some more detailed pics today of the green one. Theyre not too far away from me.
  11. What are the availability for DUKW parts? Are they basically the same as GMC 6x6?
  12. Well I would have gone for it but after waiting a week for a reply was told they were sold.
  13. Thanks Richard, I think that explains the very thin yellowy looking paint that lies underneath the original coats of paint, we were wondering what that might be!
  14. Theres always the MVT verification service, but you do have to be a member!
  15. Thanks for the lead! We have used aerosol tins in the past just to prime the Morris panels, but even at trade prices doing the landy body would take a few crates of the stuff!
  16. As the title suggests, what is the best paint for priming an aluminium body with, and where can I get it from?
  17. Im sure this has been on another thread. Where can I find out the service history for the Landrover? Ive got the release docs, original reg etc.
  18. Took delivery of it today, I cant believe what a good buy it was. Had it up on the ramp for an MOT corrosion inspection and the under side is as solid as the day it was made. All it will need for an MOT is a brake master cylinder and a couple of front indicators! Everything else is fine, never been out of the yard since it was released! Just got to get it verified to register it, put the master cylinder on it, MOT it and we'll be ready for the road. Paintwork is all flaking off anyway revealing its various paint jobs! Im a very happy bunny!! :-D
  19. Or you can stck a big Pak on them! http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o72/rik242_2006/Morris/morris_commerial_mit_pak.jpg[/img]
  20. Pic thanks to Norway Rolf. http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o72/rik242_2006/Morris/181.jpg[/img]
  21. Yes it is an early one as G506 said, more than likely from Dunkirk. There are plenty examples of this, a common modification was to put a new windscreen surround on as this one. Instead of the lift up flap they replaced it with one that completely folded down. Probably a good bit of design as even with the lift up flaps on the allied ones it still got bloody hot in the cab!
  22. I didnt realise you could get all that info from Bovvy! I take it they only keep that sort of info for armoured stuff? Did you have to pay for all that info? I would be interested to find out what was special about the first 2 that were adapted for the RA, the bit that has a line through. Nice lot Steve, I can imagine what you will be doing tonight...
  23. Are you sure its glossy just because its wet? I would test a bit and see what finish it is when dry. You could try and dulling it down with talc or chalk, very hit and miss though.
