  1. Just what I need! Thanks both!
  2. Fuel pump. The pipes have been out and cleaned, we'll have closer look this week. :?
  3. My other half is going to be so pleased with you(I dont think!), trip up to HMV tomorrow then.
  4. I think the person to ask would be Kevin Wheatcroft! If anyone knows about these he does!
  5. I forgot about Das Boot, recommended. Downfall is top notch as well... World at War series is about as close as you can get, good call!
  6. The Morris is going to be called Winnie, after Mr Churchill, from what I can gather all the ones Ive seen have a name in stencil.
  7. Thanks for that Richard, the cable running into it, or so it seems, is too thick for anything modern/recent.
  8. That was a great series. I only remember it from my childhood though! ;-) Dont think its available on DVD,
  9. Couple at Bov. , one fully restored in the museum, one waiting. Would love to get my hands on one of them. Very intersting use, mainly from what I can gather, raiding Luftwaffe airfields. One day...maybe...
  10. We would let you keep your stabilisers on Tony...
  11. Ice Cold in Alex. A bit of a wierd film.
  12. Think we are more or less sorted on that front now, fingers crossed anyway! The dynamo is now in place, wired up to the control box, earthed out at the chassis, ready for a slightly longer run next week. Does anyone know of a place I can get a starter button switch for it, also need some spares for the fuel tank that is on, the reserve wont pick up, any ideas welcome.
  13. There was a separate thread about this I cant remember where it was? Do you know where it was Tony?
  14. Almost a year to the day! Oh if only I could have been paid for it..hourly....per post maybe....Jack?......Jack?
  15. Yes the Sherman dozer is on its way from the Wheatcroft collection to start work on the Brit WW2 section of the car park to enlarge it. Jack can sort his family vehicles out to bring in the hard core. Clive was knitting a red carpet last time I peeked through the windows. So line them up at the bar, I'll start off with the straight 50 and work my way up to the synthetics!!
  16. ....for a jeep??! On milweb under the jeep sdection, 2 Jeep rolling chassis with non wartime engine, one for £3,300 and one for £3,800! Over 3 times the price I paid for my "bits" and the only thing extra is the engine!!
  17. After many weeks searching I came to the conclusion that they werent! Thanks Tony, Ive taken a precaution of tying a big fat label with your wise words on it in case we forget! Thanks ;-)
  18. Thanks for the pics Simon. Your cab looks fairly solid.
  19. Think Ive answered my own question here! Couple of medal ribbon suppliers on evilbay, but this has raised another question. Were WW1 medals worn round the neck rather than clasp , as per WW2 medals?
  20. The dynamo came back from the electricians today. I only wanted a quote to recon it, but had a phone call to say it was ready! I am now £235 lighter in pocket, ouch! :-(. At least I know for sure its all done properly and working OK.
  21. Robert pics of both medals. Both are WW1, one is obviously the war medal other Im guessing was e general service one given to merchant seamen. Any ideas on what best to clean the bronze looking one with?
  22. Going to Bovingdon 30 odd years ago , when the collection was just a line of tanks in a warehouse!
  23. Yes it would! Looking at the list from WFA, there is 2 map areas which could be of interest. Bapaume 4th July 1918, ref 157125, area 57c NW3. And Beugny 4th July 1918, ref 157135, area 57c NW4. But again without seeing what the overall areas which are covered by the maps, its very hit and miss unless the areas are quoted in the diaries. Interestingly though, both those areas show the german trench positions which would have been the subject of then raids.
  24. Cor! :schocked: What an interesting life you have, yes please pics!
