  1. With good connections and cables of the correct size there really is no need to go to 12V. Unless it's a radio jeep, 12V only detracts of the value in my personal opinion.
  2. I'll be there for a week too. It's my summer holiday 😎
  3. If you have the space available, maybe a used shipping container would be an option for storage? They come in several standard sizes, are easy to place and more weather resistant than a tent. It's amazing how well they can blend in the surroundings if painted a suitable colour and they're not that expensive, compared to a tent garage.
  4. I have a nice T60A pintle hook for a GPW available, in very good condition with only very minor wear. I am looking to trade it for a T60A pintle hook in comparable condition that is correct for our early Willys MB, which can be ID'd by the rough surface (cast in sand) and the name 'STEEL' cast onto both lower- and upper jaw. Alternatively, I might also be interested in other slatgrill parts for trade. Feel free to let me know what you have. Looks like I will be going to Beltring so I can bring the pintle hook there.
  5. If that doesn't fix it I suggest you post your problem on http://g503.com/forums/ There are some experts on jeep carburetors there too.
  6. You might be able to find something if you look into colours scale modelers use and convert that to RAL?
  7. Thanks for the pic! Very interesting but that's a completely different tank; it seems it only takes about half of the space, with the remainder used for wooden storage lockers. That is a possibility. While it still seems to be in the original paint, I couldn't see any trace of markings but it's very dark in the warehouse. I'm going to try to persuade the owner to move it to the workshop and see if we can get it running. That would also give the opportunity to inspect it better.
  8. Since a few weeks I don't see the small forum 'buttons' anymore (like the green dot or star in front of unread content and other places), only a small square. Clicking them seems to work fine though.. Is there any way to fix this? See screenshot below:
  9. Thanks. What are the costs of just entering the convoys without staying or using facilities at the base camps?
  10. Will there be an option to just participate in one or both convoys and avoid staying at the camps?
  11. No, not for sale. It's part of a private collection of 100+ classic trucks, cars, tractors and diggers.
  12. I checked and there is no sign of anything ever having been mounted at the rear of the chassis. I think petrol is only pumped by hand or gravity, never with a motorized pump? There is also no sign of a firewall like the one visible on the official photo's ever having been mounted.
  13. Thanks, I'm not on FB myself but the owner of the WOT1 might have an account so I'll ask him!
  14. Thanks for your replies! It could very well be that it was fitted with the tank somewhere else than at Dagenham. I think the pamphlet Baz48 quotes from confirm this example was build under RAF contract (as are most WOT1's). I do assume though that the RAF would contract complete trucks and not just rolling chassis & cab combinations? In that case it might be possible to find out how many WOT1 tankers were delivered to the RAF. It can't have been many, from the looks of it. Below is the original photo that was in the link ltwtbarmy referred to above. It is different in a few details but it also doesn't seem to have a pump unit at the back either. Next time I go visit (I expect coming week) I will check and see if there is evidence if something was ever mounted at the rear-end. If engine number and chassis number are indeed the same, is there a list with dates available somewhere?
  15. Because at the moment nobody will know for sure where this ship will end up. If needed they can convert their stocks to EU Reg, but if there's a slight chance it won't be needed they don't want to destroy their investment. My point is that at this moment the EU Reg is also the law in the UK, and the chance that law will be relaxed after brexit is minimal. But again, nobody knows anything for sure at Circus Brexit so you might get lucky.
  16. Thank you, that is an excellent suggestion! Anyone have an idea where the chassis number is located?
  17. Not very likely, as the chances that gun laws get relaxed after Brexit are about as close to zero as you can get.
  18. Nobody else has any info or know where to go look for some?
  19. Thanks! Indeed different in a few small details but these are the first original photos I have seen. It seems this is a rare variant but at least some evidence it's not a post-war setup.
  20. This unrestored Fordson WOT 1 (with double rear-axles) tanker / fuel bowser is in a friend's collection. It seems to be in quite good condition with lots of the original paint left (service brown?), especially inside the cab. However, I can't find any information or even a photo of a WOT 1 tanker anywhere so if anyone could shed a light on it we would be very grateful! The tank has remnants of SB paint too so I think it's not a post-war addition; the only thing that seems to be missing is the pump-unit at the rear end and the original headlights. If it's indeed an original fuel bowser I guess it's most likely ex-RAF? Where can I find the chassis number? Sorry for the poor photos, the Fordson is currently stored in my friend's building and there's almost no room around it so they were the best I could do. All photos were taken with flash.
  21. There's always Mr. Bean's solution:
  22. Axis Track Services is making new track links for the Panther they are restoring, while the Australian owner has plans to sell (some of) the original links in his museum shop: https://www.facebook.com/ausarmour/posts/1542209992481923
  23. The markings in both Dutch and French would indeed indicate Belgian use. This pale grey-green is more associated with CD than military use I think?
