  1. Hello chappies. As you will know I bought TTM's Mutt last autumn and have it in mind to add markings suitable for Gulf War 1. I've used the MUTT forum g383 and also the general G506 forum and haven't really got anywhere with definitive markings. However, I have now got a snap of a bonnet from a scrapped GW1 period MUTT which shows some useful stuff. Anyone have any idea if this is a US Army or US Marines vehicle? I also need to know how I would apply other markings to the bumpers. I still have no idea of the correct USMC unit that had them - they buzzed them around by helicopter and some attended a big Iraqi surrender moment. MB
  2. If I did, I'd have to kill you....and Jack would then have to kill me. Net result: space taken up in the clubhouse mortuary. Messy. MB (:cool2:)
  3. Poo, I've left my camera at home. Just keep the bloody things off the post-war American plot. :nono: MB

What about Prisoner Cell Block H and Skippy? Anyone old enough to remember the "classic" Magic Boomerang ??? Now I am showing my age. MB
  5. Squirrel Nutkin will have hidden it in with his Kim Jong-il wig collection... MB
  6. The snaps are handouts from Leavesley International who are cutting her up in the Canada Graving Dock at Bootle on Merseyside.
  7. I've checked the accounts and you haven't paid your mess bill.
  8. I would never deny a person a day's work, especially in the current climate. Business is business and life goes on. But isn't it a shame nobody can do anything to preserve a bit of our vast naval heritage in this country? A Falklands War veteran would be a prime example.
  9. Friends of mine made the trip with a similar sounding arrangement as suggested by Neil. It has to be done. No cameras mind...well, not inside the museum places. My wife visited Dachau several years ago on a school trip and has never forgotten the experience. There was a party of German school kids on the trip who were in jaw-dropped bewilderment for the whole experience. It's Holocaust day today - by coincidence. To be frank it isn't a day that really means a great deal to me. I feel detached from the Holocaust in a way I cannot explain. Ethnic perhaps, but more because I can't empathise. I guess I have to make the trip. MB
  10. Jack is running flipflops for Somali pirates....
  11. Education. Thanks fellas. So have I got this right. The ex Yugo "Firefly" type thing at Beltring is a Grizzlyfly??? Looking forward to clarification from thems wot knows... MB
  12. Mike, I think you need to write a feature on all this when it is done and the old girl is running as close to as you would like as you can get. If you can stomach going over it all again I'd welcome the chance to read it all in a Adrian Mole diary style. I hope your mohawk hasn't fallen out. You deserve a bloody medal. MB
  13. One's enough TB! I think being grown up is a wonderful facet about this. I also think the root of it is in the mutual respect. There are people who post stuff that does not necessarily interest me, as I am sure some of my waffle does the same. But I admire the knowledge, passion and spirit of the people who make the effort to post up their life and work on here and I support it all wholeheartedly. I think we can all take credit for the atmosphere in the clubhouse. It is good to congratulate ourselves occasionally and then carry on regardless. The key is there are no Big Heads - just Big Hearts.

Jack looks more like Kim Jong-il...and with the power lust to boot. Australia is welcome to Leo Sayer, methinks. MB
  15. Have fun. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures. MB
  16. This is the oddest blow-up mattress I've ever seen.
  17. Just goes to show what a standing over a single war grave can do. The fallen can open up so many doors. It's all good. When you pass the spot where Ellis's memorial stands, say hello for me, TB> Ta! MB
  18. Very, very nice. Much appreciated. Good to have you with us. Welcome to the Friendly Forum. MB
  19. What did Kenny Everett's general used to say? Bomb the Bast4rds! Amazing stuff (again), Steve. Respec' M
  20. I couldn't reply to a new member earlier. I had to go to the board menu and then thru that way. Smilies are definitely down. Have to sign off now... MB
  21. Yes - near Shoreham, there is an aircraft museum in Shoreham village at Sevenoaks that is... and they have been putting memorials on the crash sites of local BofB crashes including Ellis. They have a website. http://www.shoreham-aircraft-museum.co.uk/memorials-project.htm I think this would be the basis of a good road run on a nice summer day. MB
  22. We always like an addition of new brain power round the place. So fill yer boots and make the most of it all. Have fun MB
  23. Only by Matchbox in 1/76 scale. Finding the Italian kit would be a hell of a challenge, MB
