  3. Thanks for the info, if available I will bring the DAF along
  4. You say 1940s event but I see in one post you have invited vehicles from any era, is this correct or is it just 40s you want for the event now.
  5. Was not a bad turnout for a first show seeing as it clashed with some major events that weekend. Sat night BBQ and disco was good and the site is nice and very peaceful, ideal show for children being an animal farm. There was also 432 rides both days. A few pics I took.

  11. From Facebook The War and Peace Show (Organisers) Latest update from The Hop Farm! Contrary to rumours, the Hop Farm is not underwater, the Show is not in danger of being cancelled or postponed and all external agencies are currently happy with the situation! It’s a lovely sunny day with a drying wind and the fields are drying out well. Feedback from Officials is that ground conditions are improving by the hour, there is the odd puddle, but these are draining quickly. Vehicles are arriving regularly – one or two fields are wet but nothing is impassable. Our Arena Commentator, Woody, quipped that when the sun’s out its too hot!! We’re all looking forward to a successful show – so keep packing!

  16. Hi Stuart Since you mentioned Bunker Bash I thought I had better reply to what you have written. Nice to know you have at least attended twice, not sure when this was or if it was as public as I cannot recall your name on the database and the only time you was going to attend with your truck and gun soit could be used in our firepower display you never showed due to brake problems so you told me on the phone when I called you on the Saturday, turned out you just went to another show but thanks for your support and honesty. As for poor stalls at the BB show I am guessing the stalls must be poor at Overlord as well because on Monday (the only day I could make the show) I see GI Joe, Peter Green, Soilder3, Paul Heddell, Div Patch, Green Zone,Bagnells, Colin Voss, which all support our show as well as Overlord. As for a poor show ground, its different, it’s not flat but its usable and has worked well for 7 yrs now having vehicles and traders in one field and living history and arena in the other along with our excellent woodland area. I do agree with you we do have some excellent re-enactors especially First Allied Airborne with the Copeman’s Sherman firing in the woods this year, also GI44-45, Vickers Machine Gun Society, Russian 2ndGuards, just to name a few. As for the MVT bank holiday show I was also around during these days and yes they did lose a few vehicles but nothing and the scale I was told went overnight Sunday and Monday morning from Overlord along with near half the traders. It is a shame that traders and vehicle owners don’t stay and support the show longer and there is nothing that can be done about this other than not inviting them back next year should they go early, this has been tried with another show and was NOT very successful. I was not happy as I could only go on the Monday as a member of public and had set out early and driven 125 miles to find that half the vehicle and traders had gone and some of the displays that were left just did not care that there vehicle was still covered in a tarp and had a car sat next to it which really does not look good. R Cubed said that the main days are Sat/Sun, and pack up day Monday, maybe the show should just be advertised as a weekend show because as a MOP had I known it was pack up day Monday I would have stayed at home and waited until next year and saved myself a 250 mile round trip. Just my views a MOP.
