a busy season mine would do max 500 miles in a ferret , think min miles ins quote is a 1000 miles per annum ,4500 miles a year in mine would be about 4k in fuel alone.

r/h side underneath cross brace 2 threaded holes for plugs, oil can ,and engine build sheet storage which is in round tube aft of engine top cover knurled screw cap .

no ear protection jesus whilst doing my ferret with needle gun it was soft foam ear plugs and eardefenders and it was still bad its like driving a ferret with no ear protection might be tolerable for a few miles then the gearbox noise really starts to get to you.

tee hee all ferrets have them and probably lots of armour they are marks from the foundry so u have made your armour plate heat treated it and want to see if its hard enough , get a pneumatic road drill with a chisel bit fitted and operate it on armour any indentations that are too deep means armour not correctly hardened .:-D

they look like cherry rivets either cherry lock or cherry max re corrosion unless metal is holed take plates off grind corrosion off using something along lines of scotchbrite pads the ones u can affix to a drill then treat surface with alodine/ali prep.corrosion has started around rivets cause of dissimilar metal.

u can put grease in with gun upright whilst tapping base to make grease sink to bottom of gun however make sure gun doesn't release against spring otherwise u might get a face of the stuff!:cool2:
