  5. Couldn't agree more John. I'm sure Roadsure have a stall, at W&P, and they want business not adverse publicity, of their services. What is it with s-its in suits, they can never just hold up their hands, say sorry and pay up. So they have about a week to come up with the goods. Hardyferret
  6. It would appear everyone that those awfully nice people at Ro--s-re, are happy to give a 'good faith' payment of about half the cost of an axle, which is 500 odd right Jack? Soooooooooooo kind, looks like all the forum members ought to start sending emails?? And the recovery boys have got a nice bowl of water and a towel, washed their hands, and strolled into the subset spurs jangling :-D What a bunch of bar stewards Anything we can do Jack just ask,, like offers that can't be refused  Regards Hardyferret

  9. Neil congrats, if anyone deserves to get to WP you do for perseverance :-D Looking at pic you posted of 'new' engine are you sure it's a 5 bearing as it appears to have a separate oil filler tube, and I couldn't make out any x ribs on the block common to a 5 bearing?? 3 bearing lumps are still tough though :-D Regards Hardyferret
  10. Knowing what our Dorset daughters are like, might be a baptism of fire, for these young boys    HF :-D
  11. Well I've had a look, and yes they did a REAR suspended tow, so all the Jimmy's weight was on the front axle :schocked: Also the wheels would have been running in reverse at quite a speed and I wonder about the left/right hand threads in the wrong direction  Also the loading on the front wheels would have been abit more than normally expected  And I suspect too much on a corner.... Don't understand why they rear lifted, if access was a problem, why not get it out drop it and then pick up on the front ?????????? The damage shredded wheel studs, dead brake drum ,buckled back plate, crunching sounds on rotating hub poss diff /bearings and an awful lot of movement, on the swivel suspect cracked pin etc outstanding recovery job What a b-mmer, but we'll sort it Jack they don't call me Clarke HF for nuffin' ;-) :-D :-D Regards Hardyferret

  13. Fast , try a ferret baby the F1 of the FV range, independant suspension, 6 cyls of 4.2l precision, and the way to draw a crowd. Not sure if it was the Ferret at Weymouth drawing the crowds or the dashing driver, in his beautiful blue, (UN) beret, and stylish cravat. What are you doing roaring around Hampshire at such velocities?? :shake: :schocked: Shame on you young man, treat that old lady with respect. OR THE SPECIAL FROG SQUAD MAY GO FOR A SPOT OF CUSHIONNAPPING AND SOME PRETTY HEAVY RANSOME DEMANDS    HF :-D :-D
