  1. The importance of rememberance? The sacrifice of so many, is honoured and preserved. That what was given is appreciated, and built on, not squandered. And today gives us that point to show our respect HF
  2. We were lucky in Poole sunshine, should have emailed you some  Hope the pot got well filled though :-D HF
  3. Look's loke hard work went in here, well done. Nice PIG :-D HF :-D
  4. Now now, no handbags, poor Jack has had a traumatic sunday, up at about 7am :schocked: :schocked: :schocked: :schocked: :schocked: :schocked: :shake: :shake: Bet he's in bed with teddy now  discussing the bear facts ;-) HF
  5. Shouldn't have stayed in the pub :-( HF
  6. Perhaps split the drum with Jack   HF
  7. Well done to you all, hope you had as enjoyable day as we did in Poole shame about weather :-( Regards Hardyferret :-D
  8. Seems we missed a rememberance service, at Tyneham the village on Lulworth ranges evacuated for military use in WW2 The Church stands complete and 1 or 2 sevices take place each year, would have been quite a moving event HF
  9. Lawson if you want I can get you WD40 in 205 litre barrels :schocked: HF
  10. I am still mentally divided :shake: on this one half says good idea the vehicles pull in people who have no idea or interest in rememberance, and then there is the oppurtunity to educate them. On the other hand I feel uncomfortable with the vehicle on rememberance day, which is a day to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, not the equipt used to kill them Dunno still swinging on both counts :? HF
  11. Damn it Clive, your so smart! ( putting his Forest Gump head on) What a good idea and a real benefit to the members. Or the money could go to war and peace and we all have a 'free' entry   Joking aside a sensible and practical idea, which would enhance MVT's standing. HF
  12. Any thing to do with tensioning or holding some sort of canvas or cover ?? HF :yay: :yay: :dancinggirls:
  13. Lee, cracking picture what else have you got hidden in your tuck box  We would love to have a look  HF :-D :-D

  15. the edge burnt away, caused by some sort of tracer in the tube on the fin edge, to assist with aiming and sighting ?? HF :-D
  16. Well, the MK 1 doors are fitted and all the MK 2 brackets removed so we are back as the pig would have been in 1970. So I gave them a coat of bronze green, totally different shade to the rest of pig :dunno:  So Christmas looks like a respray :-D along with refitting the ram, for the interested this will be the early 3 U / channel type which neither Clive or myself have seen preserved. Made sense seeing Clive's is in it's RUC state, mine was also RUC like Clive's, a sister in fact !! So the reason behind having it in 1970 guise, when it returned to the British army. There are a number of normal MK 1's out there without ram's Paul's flying pig and a few MK 2's. Just thought a different exhibit, and correct to it's era. If anyone has any pig pics, especially with the flat 3 bar ram, would like to see :-D Will try to port some pics of work HF
  17. are you legal ? or do we need a little man to follow your rear waving a red light  :shake: :schocked: Just thought this might be misinterpreted..... We will make room, I can be so persuasive :-D HF
  18. As long as it takes to squeeze every penny we can out of the great British public   Probabley there 9.00 until when ever :-D Mid to late afternoon HF
  19. Pig is ideal for us, all the barbed plastic wire fits in nicely to sell  has presence, like an armoured Transit :schocked: I like the pig as rare, compared to over the water production. And I have a soft spot for the B series RR motors :-D And enables us to put our display on in the back, with a security grill over the rear opening :-D And it's pretty easy to drive HF :-D
  20. Oh dear, there's always one  HF
  21. When I had the Ferret, many of my workmates called me Gruber.... Couldn't understand why the smack in the gob offended :dunno: My little tank! Huh  HF

  24. Newer helmet was a million times better :-D As for SOP's on kit packing, there were set rules as a crow but once you grew up.... you were left to your own devices  As long as you somewhat resembled a member of this man's army ;-) I never bothered with kidney pouches just w/bottle pouches and some strange yank things I won :dunno: All my non essen kit in the bergan Never liked the modern type chest rigs etc, you feel like your in a straight jacket... Jack no smart remarks  As for kidney pouches seem to remember trying to cram socks rat pack hexi boot clean kit and I'm sure there was some other really useful kit that HAD to go  in HF :-D :-D
