1. Nice video, I wish my Pinz would speed up like that I was a bit amused when I saw they were using newspapers for the large area masking as I just bought today a big roll of brown paper so I dont have to tape heaps of small bits together and use up all the masking tape.
2. I zoomed in on the gun tractors and staff car in post #26
3. Nice piccies The HMS Poseidon story is disgusting but atypical
4. They're not Daleks!!! I am figuring from the other photos I have and the uniforms that it is during the Japanese actions in China. Zooming in on the spare tyre I can see the brand name is in English  . The tube is in the tyre
5. I should have known that given the big searchlight behind them  No worries, something for you guys to ponder over Christmas

10. Rail gun as promised Now I don't want to profess I have as much Knowledge as Steveo and Adrian about armoured vehicles, but I am fairly certain this is a Dalek
11. scanning is boring

14. I just purchased a photo of a Japanese one and I put it in the Japanese thread
15. Reminds me, nearly the weekend so I better get to the hardware shop
16. Yes this is the thick canvas with no fibre, like boat sails Funny enough I bought a heat gun 2 days ago (as it was cheap - no other reason!) Will have a play this weekend and see what I can do
17. The areas I am looking at are bonded as in the middle where the aircom comes through. mind you I should experiment with welding myself on some scrap as would look nicer
18. you can actually pdf it and it still works as a powerpoint
19. Would that be that sickly smelly blue stuff? Cheers, I will have to try that I tried the model glue that you paint on with a brush that kinda melts both surfaces as thats how the Vinyl glue was described but would not penetrate the canvas. I think that original model glue was an MEK derivitive so pehaps it isnt anymore as didnt seem to be same same
20. Anyone know of the applicable adhesive, preferably sold by a big brand name for gluing Vinyl canvas? this stuff is meant to be the best but I don't see any for sale over here http://www.rochfordsupply.com/product_listing.asp_Q_CatID_E_406_A_SubCatID_E_426_A_ProdID_E_3262
21. Looking at the books, seems the cam is only different because the P93 uses hydraullic tappets which require shorter valves It dont seem to be a performance tweak, so should run same, so I can do a head change later, or rebuild the P93 engine at my leisure. Just messed around with the body today as need a puller for the cam belt tensioner which had not arrived. Needed to sweep dirt out of the back and change a few more rivnuts as will maybe paint it on Christmas day. I would like to get it painted so I can bolt body bits back on as makes me feel better when having breaks whilst tinkering with the engine. Mocked fitted the UK MoD canvas to see how much I need to cut off (which is a lot !). I need to find an international supplier of canvas glue as you can't ship this stuff any more

23. Actually Wolfgang, the manual states to remove it with the support in section 16 After it is removed it then states to use a puller to take the drive gear off, then remove the support bolt x 3 (17mm) As my extra, refurbished pump is already mounted on a support I don't need a gear puller or swap supports. I will have to reset the TDC and position as I dont trust the rebuild shop. The only deviation from the manual was not to remove the injector lines 'as you dont need to' So Yes I read the manual as it is sitting beside the injection pump.
24. Yes unibody with a central spine. They are a bit of a confusing vehicle in that they are very rugged and capable. But I often wonder about how field maintenance would be like with special tool requirements and poor access to some bits. There is often I think, how the hell would I like to be doing something in a hurry if the bad guys were coming, but I guess most new vehicles are like that now  I already had this Pinz driving around as an everyday vehicle, but getting an extra vehicle with bits I wanted to incorporate has sidetracked me a lot, perhaps 6 months Great vehicle..... it better run better than new when it's finished
25. Well started on the timing belts, P93 injection pump, P93 injectors and new water pump. To line up the timing mark you have to peer through a hole in the gearbox bellhousing to the driving plate which is at a fairly awkward position. Well whoever designed the fuel injection pump mounting system was a girl with very skinny long fingers :argh:. If it was a guy, he should be wearing a dress and dancing at a cabaret in Thailand. Spent most of the day getting the old one out. If I get the back end done by tomorrow I will be very happy, if not I will come home and yell at the dog and kick the wife The P93 top cover is different but it mysteriously disappeared, so I got a whole new nose for another cover. The day after the guy that lost it, says "look what I found!".
