  1. A bit off topic, :-D but I seem to recall that it has been mentioned before: I am currently working in Germany near Munich (nothing to do with F**tball) and whilst at lunch today saw the replica Me 262 flying in preparation for an airshow this weekend. It was pretty awesome and just such a sleek airframe years ahead of its time, it must have seemed like alien technology back in the forties! It was much louder than I expected, unlike the Vampires and such that just seem to wooosh past! Just thought I'd share it with you as it made my day  (Sad b*stard!) Cheers Paul
  2. Should that be a big 'Howdy', or is that the wrong end/side of the states? Whatever welcome aboard. Paul.
  3. West Sussex Area: http://www.sussexmvt.co.uk/ Paul.
  4. Hotchkiss rims came in rivetted and welded types also! I have some of each, will take some pictures next time I remember :-) Paul.
  5. Had a great time 8-), went Friday afternoon and came home Sat evening due to other committments. Weather was fab, with the slight worry of rain drops on the tent at 24:00 then again at 05:30. :-( Despite my V large HMVF sign managed to meet exactly nobody! Great turnout of vehicles, i suppose would have been larger if it hadn't clashed with Tankfest? Hope to meet some of you at Beltring. Paul
  6. Touch wood, I did 120 miles each way in the M201  with no problems, just spent the entire 4 hours each way wondering what was going to break then wondering why it hadn't :? I had an A4 size HMVF sign in my windscreen but never saw another one, despite looking! Maybe better luck at Beltring  Cheers Paul
  7. Do you have the web site or e-mail address for the plans? Which guy has gone to parts hot and sandy, the one with the plans or the one building yours :? I'm still keen on a 30Cal but have been moving towards something more suitable for the Hotchkiss, like a FM24/29 but these seem rarer than hens teeth................ Cheers  Paul.
  8. Still looks like TWO :-o Ferrets :pfrt: and NO Jeeps! I suppose i'll never see a Jeep  on the header (Sigh) Oh well maybe next time :banghead: Cheers  Paul  I just can't get enough of that banana........................................ :yay!:
  9. Its all very nice, however.......... :rtfm: Where are the Jeeps :?   :yay!: An M201  counts as postwar too! And I'm sure that statisticaly speaking there are more jeeps than just about any other MV on the Forum (maybe with the exception of L***rovers) (I just had to use the dancing banana!) Cheers Paul
  10. Yes, but at Kemble and not the Royal Gunpowder Mills i'm afraid...... :-( Paul.
  11. Welcome, with enough beer and kebabs the NBC probably comes in handy Paul
  12. Thats better :-) Never thought to try that  Cheers Paul
  13. Could just be me, but i'm wearing out my mouse having to go to the end of each thread for the new posts! Is there a way to have the new posts at the beginning of each thread :? The old forum had the option to change it but only seemed to work for the particular thread you were on then reverted back each time...... Cheers Paul.
  14. Hi, Can't help you myself, but my brother in law is a fireman and does know about such things if not yours in particular! I will ask him as soon as I see him next. Paul.
  15. From where i'm sitting the time still seems to be screwed up, or is it that i'm thinking in GMT+1 rather than HMVF +2 :? This is all taking some getting used to, I'd only just got the hang of the old forum  Paul
  16. How do you know what field you will be in, do you just grab a space when you arrive or are they allocated? I've just got back to the UK and opened my post with my W&P entry and all I have is a number and the welcome brochure but I can't seem to find any hint as to where I shall be :? Answers on a postcard please to........... I do like the HMVF logo idea though, and will blow one up and print it out for my windscreen 8-). Paul
  17. Great idea, what font and what colouring for the lettering? Only kidding  I may be able to offer some un-comfortable stools from Friday (last one not the first!) Paul.
  18. I think a picture of the completed rig, ie Pig and trailer is called for so we can all admire it :!: Paul.
  19. As said earlier, if it does the job then who cares? Paul.
  20. BBC news website had a section on D-day in the morning but there was no sign of it after lunch! Out here in Germany they don't seem to be making much note of it either  Wish I could be driving my Jeep! You are right though that 'thankyou' does not seem to be even half sufficient for the sacrifices made. Paul.

    D-Day

I would drive mine but I'll be in Germany with work, and Munich is a bit far in the jeep, I know they did it back then but they also took more than 4 days :!: Also I'm not sure how it would go down with the locals  8) :?: Paul
  22. I'll have to go back through the posts and find some pics of your trucks or i'll spend my whole time wallowing from truck to truck scrounging cups of tea/beer/wine/meths.......... Otherwise you could all wear pink carnations with a rolled up copy of the Times as identification :?: Not sure when i'll get there yet but will be on the look out for you all. Cheers Paul.
  23. Only £4.00 :!: I was robbed  I paid £5.00 and thought I got a bargain, i'll ask for a refund if I see them again  They are out of stock though :!: Paul.
  24. Is anyone planning a get together at Kemble, or have I missed the thread? This will be my first oppertunity to meet any of you lot Cheers Paul
  25. In classic car circles there was the tale from when Rolls Royce took over Bentley. When the factory site was being cleared the surplus Bently parts were put into the inspection pits and concreted over. Some years back a group of enthusiasts found the location and dug it up, true enough loads of rare parts were found but had suffered from 60+ years in concrete :!: So, some of the stories are true but which ones :?: Paul.
