  1. There already is a team looking for UXB's - there's a company who I met in Belgium at a WW1 event who specialise in searching for undetonated explosives, hired in by Railways, building company's etc before they start working on a piece of land. Recently, they've been doing a lot of work in the South of England with unexploded V1 rockets
  2. Great photos, thanks for sharing. Don't supposed you're at all tempted to put an armoured body on it are you?
  3. Yep, saw the Model T - see 8th photo down
  4. Nigel's fantastic GS Wagon RFC Demonstration Nieuport 12 two-seater, 45 Squadron Royal Flying Corps Flyboys replica Nieuport 17 in RFC colours Flyboys Berliet replica truck on Ford Transit chassis Ford Model T ambulance and WAAC Any event with cricket is a good one RFC Air Mechanic 3rd Class 1917 Women's Army Auxiliary Corps Worker 1917 Back from the battle with Air Cadet band leading, playing 'It's a long way to Tipperary' and 'Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines' theme tune, fantastic
  5. Great photos - the one of the 10th Essex RFC Nieuport 12 has me and my friend Lynsey behind the Lewis gun! I'll upload some of mine later, fantastic weekend
  6. Good job I didn't ask if the correct flange is fitted then!
  7. I've seen photos of 2 or 3 photos at a WW1 event a few of my mates went to in June in Italy (wish I had gone), including a 15 ter or similar. Luckily, i'm going all over there in October, all expenses paid, not sure if it's the same place but I hope so
  8. Hi, yeah that's me, still haven't got around to finishing off the model Fordson WOT1, however made a little work on it. Have you found much new on the crash trucks, especially the Weeton type?

    Regards, Rob

  9. Cheers Tony, have a photo shop software thingamy on my computer, but I tend to brighten it as little as possible so I don't get too much 'noise' (ie when it goes all fuzzy)
  10. The Salvage Squad one is owned by a collection of narrow gauge locomotives based near me in Staffordshire - I e-mailed them but it's currently on loan to Leighton Buzzard (or somewhere in Wales, can't remember), but it'll be back at the end of the year
  11. Yep, Duxford Land Warfare Hall, where day becomes night!
  12. FWD (Four Wheel Drive) Model B 3 ton Lorry, built in the USA but exported in large numbers for use by British and Commonwealth forces. The Land Warfare Hall at Duxford is extremely dark, so apologies for the bad quality
  13. IWM Duxford, as with all the photos i'm putting up tonight. Shuttleworth definitely worth a visit though, hopefully off there tomorrow for the evening air display
  14. Simplex 40hp petrol locomotive as used on War Department Light Railways - there were three degrees of protection, open ones (ie no armour whatsoever), protected (as seen) and armoured, which looked a bit like a tank. The protected and armoured ones earned the nickname 'Tin Turtle' for obvious reasons. This one's been regauged from standard gauge (that used on normal British railways) to 2 foot gauge as commonly used by the WDLR.
  15. Fiat 15 ter lorry, as used by British forces on the Italian front (and by the Italians, strangely!)
  16. Thornycroft J type lorry, as used by the ASC and RFC etc during WW1, with a 13 pounder 9cwt anti-aircraft gun mounted a mk III mount on the rear
  17. Hey Nigel, good to see another OC on here! See you at Detling
  18. Nice - just name the place and date and i'll do my best to get there
  19. I've got a jacket, don't know the size but I could measure it for you if you like?
  20. There was an LCV, looked like a cross between the American LCVP and the LCM Mk III (with the little box at the back for the boss to stand in - i'm not too good with Navy nomenclature!)
  21. Nice picture - I think the bike is a Triumph model H
  22. Did the Signals museum have anything on WW1? Wasn't sure if they'd have anything or not, as during WW1 the Signals were part of the Royal Engineers (the Royal Flying Corps started life as the Aviation Battalion in the RE too, pre-WW1)
  23. Fantastic photo, thanks - love the bodywork on the Model T!
  24. Also the same date as my best mate's birthday - she's also mad about WW1 too!
