  1. I did say ALSO in my post, as an EXTRA benifit as to the cans being of a square form with a tapered set of sides. . And also, POSSIBLY as a personal observation. The definitive answer is on the link from the site posted earlier. 'it is tapered, to allow the contents to easily come out one end'. if you punch a small hole in the opposite end. it DEFINATELY exits the can a LOT easier! :coffee:
  2. Also, they will stack better (One up one way, one up the opposite) in a crate / box thus making it more stable. (Aircraft/Trucks Etc). The key is there just as an extra to muck squaddies about!!! (Just joking!) :-D I would imagine the key is a primary source for opening tins if you dont have a clasp knife Etc? We used to call it Corned Dog in the Mob! Mike. :coffee:
  3. No you wernt! There was me & a Dalek!.........
  4. I thought the POSTWAR M38 Jeeps & Jeeps fitted with POSTWAR one peiece glass windscreens were in poor tatse also! Radio procedure from German 'Tank Commander' was total rubbish also! NEVER give names out on the radio! Is it just me, or do other members get annoyed at the lack of detail & incorrect stuff done for films? Vehicles, uniforms, weapons Etc, Etc. If you dont have the correct gear, vehicles Etc, DONT include that in your film. :nono: Put something ELSE in that IS correct. And a Bit more credible! Rant, Rave, Swear Etc, Etc.............Am I sad or what?... Mike. :coffee:
  5. 10.20am now & snow STILL everywhere!

  7. Cheers Jack! Happy New Years Day Mate! Sorry you couldnt get here, must have been all that snow! Well.....It's 10.00am here in Ashford (Kent) & it's now lovely & sunny. But, there is snow everywhere! A bit late for a white Christmas here! Hope you had a nice time anyway Jack :-D Happy new years day to EVERYONE on the forum. Let's hope 2010 brings us at least a little of what we wish for?........ Best Wishes, Mike. :yay:

  9. Just heard the news this evening. Petrol is going up to £1.25p a Liter!!!:argh: Doesnt this Government rob us enough? Great news for the people who own gas guzzlers! My Rl does 10Mpg, I will certainlyhave to be selective as to what shows I will be attending this comming year! more revenue to give away to other EU countries then?............:argh: A Disilusioned Mike.
  10. Cheers Lee, I wondered why the system had 'bounced me out' on the three occasions I tried to access a particular thread! Mike.
  11. Wot! no chemical Toilet for W&P next year then?...........
  12. Is that your normal garb then Tony?........
  13. Much like Health & Safety would if they saw them!.............
  14. [ Also I have to say that if I was going to a Military show with military vehicle displays then I would want to see the crews to dressed in military uniforms, it adds to the authenicity of the event. This reply sums it ALL up! It complements the vehicle & displays. Nothing would look worse than an authentically restored vehicle & the 'Driver' wearing a pair of pink cords & a red waterproof top!!!! As well as the above mentioned comment. I PERSONALY feel very comfortable in uniform having worn it for over 18 years professionaly! :coffee:
  15. This is spot on! The 'Designers' come up with kit they THINK the Service want. Instead of actually linking up with Boots on the ground IN THEATRE. s they can see & get direct feedback from the people actually using the kit/ equipment. as for 'Higher ups' leaving the Service & going on the boards ofcompanies producing stuff, that sounds familiar! I worked for a company for 11 years in Weapons Manufacture. the Boss came up with an 'Armourers Toolkit' which he was retailing for £1,500 a throw. All the actual hand tools were from the pound shop!!! They were rubbish & wouldnt have lasted five minutes in use. He was ALL about minimum outlay & maximum profit. I was angry, because as a Proffesional Armourer myself. I could have given practical advise for what my counterparts would actually nedd in the field. These sort of profiteers seem to forget that Peoples lives can be on the line doing thier job in a combat enviroment & NEED equipment that they can rely on! This is typical of the Firearms industry in the defense sector. It is amazing how cheap you can buy in live weapons with the correct papaerwork. The retail profits are HUGE!!! I can cite ONE example. I refurbished Two GPMGs to L7A2 spec. I KNOW these were bought in for £1oo each, live. I refurbed them to as new spec & they sold on to a 'Customer' for £1,500 each (Live) HE, then sold them on to a (Cannot reveal who) 'customer' who was a Foriegn Police Agency for £15,000 EACH!!!! Corruption? Who, us Guv.......Typical!!! :argh: Mike. :coffee:
  16. Neil, many a true word spoken in jest! I fully concur with your comments! ANYTHING, linked to a Government agency in my opinion. Seems to revolve mainly around money. They of course will tell you different. But, the fact remains it's all about cash...Then, they seem to opperate on. Saving pennies, & wasting thousands!! You always know when a Barracks is going to be sold off. They fit new double glazing & radiators....Then sell it off!..............:??? Mike.
  17. You STILL need two uniforms for each specific theatre The Desert & European theatres are VASTLY different in terms of Terrain & colour & Shadow. This is to my mind a compromise to save money. You cannot possibly expect one uniform to hide personell in the two differening theatres. Improving a cammo pattern is one thing. But, expecting it to perform well in the two wildly differing backgrounds is another! If you look at the US & Germany, Yes, they now have different cam patterns, BUT, they STILL issue the patterns in TWO colours for each SPECIFIC enviroment! The vast outlay for such huge personell issue is massive. But, they still do this as they recognise that you DO indeed nedd the two type of cam pattern. You CANNOT expect just one colour scheme to blend in properly in two theatres that are WORLDS apart in layout! It is a compromise. Smaller personell to supply, = Defense cuts on the way, Only ONE uniform to pay for, = SAVINGS???? Am I cynical? Having served for many years in both enviroments, I feel I am qualified to comment on this Topic with a modicum of Expirience! Mike. :coffee:
  18. THAT, is EXACTLY, what it should look like! :yay:
  19. Or,.......Ohh, The Americans & the Germans have had a change of cammo combat uniform. We had better do the same, we dont want to get left behind!...... It's cammo but, a different pattern. Therfore, STILL distguishing between nations!..................... What can we waste of the little money we have left in the pot?......:???
  20. They will ALSO have a large Badge engraved halfway down the Barrel for the Ordanance Factory..It Looks like a royal coat of arms. :coffee:
  21. I 'Dunno, I wouldnt mind putting my 'Toilet' in the organisers hands!...........:cool2:
  22. Dont be ridiculous! They of course, recomend Bungies!!!............:cool2:
