  1. Herewith attached is a photo from the 17/21st Lancers in Northern Ireland. What caught my eye is the under bumper recovery points. Curiously they look very well fabricated and also very similiar to a type mounted on top of the bumper by the Dutch on their vehicles. Any comments please? R ( I think the R is a rivet counter:nut:)
  2. I declare Mike aka FESM_NDT the winner comp no 005 going up R
  3. Because it is one of a series of postcards of Brit post war vehicles I have and thought the owner would like to have one. Sad git arent I? R
  4. Hmmmm, so after 2 years usage what will you sell the RB 44 for? How old will it be then? R
  5. Ok, so I have found it again! If on the Pathe site you search for "stop-at-nothing tank" with the hyphens as shown it comes up on the second page of results, there, I feel much better! R
  6. Well, on one of my wanderings through the archives of Pathe news I came across a short film of a Centurion tank that was amphibious with more than just a wading screen, it even had propellors at the rear. It so resembles a Duples Drive Sherman its uncanny. The footage looks to have been shot at MVEE at one of those "showing off the army kit" events that used to be so common. For the life of me I can not find it again yet alone post a link. Just thought I would throw it out there as there doesnt seem to have been any prior discussion on the subject. And for those who are tempted to say "BARV" just stop yourself, this was a gun tank, I do know what a BARV is. R
  7. Likely with the price of scrap it would be tempting for them to be cut up. . . . R
  8. I have to ask you Mark, do you know the history of that Foden? Is it the one that Mario Alliperti aka Blobby owned many moons ago? R
  9. Timbo, if you get to this side of the pond and are within 2 or 3 hours drive of me I woud make the drive for a pint! R
  10. Chris, I wish someone would lead me by the hand and show me how to, so alas no. I think Citizen Smith tank episode will find it R
  11. During a retrospective moment of nostalgia I watched on youtube a clip of the above Scorpion. In one clip of it there is a rear shot showing a weird recovery point on the left side. Im wondering if this was actually an SP registration vehicle made to look like a production item. Comments R
  12. So, out of interest, which of the two cranes did you prefer working with? R
  13. Very nice, interesting to see more of that red BATUS 432 behind. R
  14. I agree with Fruitbat, same unit as a Leopard. R
  15. Im so very glad, that a bunch of you people, who although I have never met you, have the same feelings as I do, thereby making me feel that you must be like or near like minded and worth having a pint with when I finally get back to Blighty one day. Thanks guys R
  16. For pitys sake snap his hand off at that price, we paid a shed load more a while back when they were not around. R
  17. Robin says, no progress on this so far, and I found a salvageable bin for the time being. R
  18. Whats your caption for this one then? R
  19. WINNER is Richard Farrant, brought tears to my eyes mate! This is now closed, No 004 going up now R
  20. Run a magnet over anything that is steel on it! R
  21. That is as complete as they get, looks to be in good condition. R
  22. I dont have a drawing for it. Think I saw an element on fleabay but I knew what it was but the seller didnt, I think it was either Canmec or green machine surplus had them. Absolutely bullet proof units when used properly. They are quite expensive to buy and then find a cord that works for it. On our Bv 206 when used you can hear the engine rpm drop noticeably when you switch it on. Would not be without one. R
  23. Latest challenge kids, lets see how long it takes for someone to include the words Action Man. . . . . R
  24. I declare NOS the winner on this one. Just so you know, when posts stop on the picture I close it as its not relevant any more. Another picture on the way R
