  1. This is from a 1992 COSA Section CM. I'm afraid it doesn't cover the NSNs in question but you can see the way in which size effects codification,
  2. Note that the commander's seat seems to change. Pic 1 is for a Mk 2 from the 1959 ISPL & pic 2 is from a Mk 1 1955 UHB. There doesn't seem to be a pic of the commander's seat in the Mk 2 1958 UHB.
  3. I have the basic details for all 'BJ' registered Bedford RLs & trailers rated 10 cwt, 1/2 Ton & 1 Ton. By this I mean: Chassis No. Contract No. Date in Service Receipt Voucher No. this will give the depot it was delivered to Date it was struck off census Place of disposal & sometimes to whom If anyone wants info feel free to ask. It should be not too difficult to get an ERM from the chassis no. if that is all you have.
  4. Toby I have a take off fuel pump pump which seems ok when I lever it £25 if you want. I may have a gear knob. I am near Salisbury if you want me to run through things to do & things not to do. I would make sure the handbrake is off as the brakes can easily seize when stored like that. I would jack up the wheels in turn & ensure that they are free to turn. When you do drive it make sure the 4WD lever is disengaged & if it doesn't move you have a 4x2. I'm not being flippant as I once bought a Pig over the phone which turned out to be a 4x2.
  5. Good memory Wayne http://www.milweb.net/classifieds/large_image.php?ad=53546&cat=1
  6. Can't see the instrument panel frame too well but it looks as if the screen wash switch is missing. The other hole is ok as that is the choke control which is moved further down.
  7. Screw on metal cover to hold in the bulb to illuminate the instruments.
  8. Toby link is not working for me, just get: "Invalid Attachment specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator"
  9. Gerry welcome. In your time at FVRDE & NI did you come into much contact with Humbers & their problems?
  10. Melksham? That's up north isn't it? Miles away from me!
  11. Toby, perhaps it would be best for you to post views of your cab & engine bay (from both sides) then we can all spot what's missing. 31 BK 58 Chassis No. 33158 Engine No. 8837 Built as FV1602A Contract No. 6/V/27455 Delivered to 31st ‘B’ Vehicle Depot Church Broughton Receipt Voucher No. CBR/R/230 DIS 9/5/56 Rebuilt as FV1612A 1959-60 Struck off Census BAOR 19/9/69 Recovered to 32 Central Workshops 18/10/72 Conversion to Mk 2 as FV1611A under Operation Bracelet Struck off Census 6/2/92
  12. No, he's broken his Pig again! #4 cylinder valve seat has come out, not my fault honestly! Anyway Toby welcome to pigging. You're going to hate this but I sold 6, yes 6 battery boxes on Sunday & I don't know of any more. Might have a fuel cap. Have some mesh protectors for undersides of fuel tanks & a few pipes that are around the engine. Also have a complete engine & gearbox if you want! See my ad I have some NOS driver's seats. Start up procedure. Prime the fuel pump by hand helps if you have long arms if it hasn't run for a few days. If has not run for a couple of weeks prime the gearbox of the Generator No.2 with the engine oil reduces long term wear as it only gets lubricated from the engine. Leave the choke in. Foot down twice on the accelerator then keep it off & start up. Don't be too eager to put your foot on the pedal until it has run for 30 secs or so. Indicator switch is under the horn/headlight switch. There was a modification to lock the door internally introduced in 1975 but prior to that Mk2 couldn't be locked satisfactorily. Seat belts were not fitted until 1974 so you could depict a year or so earlier. Give me a bit of time & I'll give you the history of your Pig.
  13. Wayne the white knob thing shouldn't be there. Someone & it wouldn't have been Dale, has fitted a 3-way toggle switch in place of the 3-way rotary switch. I have one from my own stock for you. I think the hole is in the right place. Later they got lowered as soldiers couldn't comprehend which end of the original metal pointy knob was the pointy end. I filled that hole in on mine & returned the switch with pointy knob to where nature had intended. The original battery spec was 2x 12v 60ah. Buy the largest batteries you can afford to fit in the space to give you some reserve capacity. Useful at shows for light etc. Yes thanks for RS book. I was there on Saturday stocking up. You need to come here to pick up your order & general initiation. Although I have the head off the Pig #4 cylinder has a valve seat that pops out & distorted. A new seat has been cut & seated in today. The head is off being skimmed.
  14. Correct not original. Could be one of those pull-out switches with a built in bulb. Could be for anything probably fog or reversing light. But I should rip it out & fill in the hole.
  15. Thank you Robin, I hope it helps people understand how the systems work & give them the courage to have a go at tackling problems. The final version took over 200 hours. The circuit diagrams took a long time in translating official diagrams (& the errors) that often showed the circuit diagram laid out as you would physically see it in the generator panel. I find with that sort of layout it is difficult to grasp how it functions. I much prefer a purely theoretical diagram. The other challenge was to make each diagram a derivation of the earlier ones so comparisons in development can be made. Often this would mean backtracking & redrawing diagrams I thought I had finished! Cleaning up, touching up & labelling takes a time. The final image took most of my free time for a week & that is actually three images fused together.
  16. Boscombe Down used Ferrets as test loads. They had 5 Mk 2 Ferrets in 1990, one of which was a Mk 2/2 but without turret. It was 32 BA 90. Two years later I saw a turretless 2/2 at Pounds. The paint work condition looked the same as was the liberal use of duct tape over the vision apertures. It's ERM was now 75 MS 45. Was this your one Neil? PS I can see a network of cord over the lockers which also visible on the Pounds one.
  17. It's mentioned in my encyclopaedia circa 1850. It refers to the transfusion of blood "from those of a man or one of the lower animals into a man, with the view of restoring the vigour of exhausted subjects.":shake: Have you tried looking on http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/
  18. Yes it is! The UHB AC 22152 from which the drawing is taken only refers to the 90A system. Indeed one can see from the drawings I posted from the ISPL AC 22007 that it only refers to a 90A system. But it does confirm the that the Rover 10 was indeed produced as a FFR which had been queried earlier. As for mistakes in circuit diagrams, there is one in the UHB on page 166 showing the Generator Panel. Just seen your post, here is a famous one, the start of Op Banner 14 Aug 1969 & a toast rack one at that.
  19. I still have some front locker lids if that's any help.
  20. I had a flyer from Bovington today advertising evening lectures @ £10 per event. But I noticed there are half day visits to the workshops & reserve collection @ £45. If you want to play with night vision equipment there is an evening on Fri 26th Nov @ £45. You can book these on 01929 462359
  21. It is for carrying SIGHT UNIT, IMAGE INTENSIFIED, XL7E1 (Z7/5855-99-965-0449) from mid/late 1970s. It superseded XL1E1 together with its holdall 5855-99-963-1519
  22. Now whenever I come onto the forum with the phone I get an annoying message telling me that the forum is Android enabled. It wants to take me to a link to purchase tapatalk. I get fed up with this. Is this something enabled by the forum or my phone doing it? If all else fails I suppose I could set this as stone suggested & view not as a mobile.
