Not far from where that happened , this also happened . Caption reads A German Junkers 88 was shot down over the Ribble estuary on 7th April 1941; the JU88 crashed on Banks Marsh (near Southport) and the German pilot landed with his parachute on mudflats off Lytham windmill, shouted for help and was rescued, made POW and taken to Lytham Hospital where he had his injured arm operated on.:coffee:

Found this pic tonight of the warton crash ( not seen this one before ) thought it might be interesting.(time team covered it if im not mistaken) Below is the caption with it ..... On 29th November 1944 a large force of brand-new Douglas A-26 Invaders were taking off from Base Air Depot 2, Warton, bound for the 409th Bomb Group, 9th USAAF base at Bretigny, France Two of the planes 43-22298 and 43-22336 collided in mid-air whilst joining the formation. The aircraft then crashed on Warton Marsh, where they remain to this day buried under the mud and grass. There were no survivors.

i agree ford 369 , we were offered way back then a sherman with flame thrower attached . that was £10,000 too . (was somewhere in Florida, a pic of it somewhere , must look for it)...... Got cmv yesterday , i felt it was not a copy i could pick up again and again..... -
my father has collected german stuff since ww2, he says he would not touch any now as there is some very good copies out there.He says he feel sorry for anyone trying today to start collecting....... (agree with you Ashley)

Yup one born every minute I've got the original copy of the bible signed by Jesus and God... wonder if he wants to buy that? what you mean you got the original? wish i had not spent all that money on my original one now !!!!! lol ......
