  1. Whist on the subject of the Volvo EKA,s here is the 6 wheeled version on trial towing a Martian cargo
  2. Crusader 65 GT 98 at ashow in the mid 1970s , note the Milly MK1 trctor in the trees and before you ask i dont know what its towing but i guess by the front wheel its a Bofors LAA
  3. A model T pickup between two Tilling Stevens 3 ton trucks, think the bike could be a Douglas but the experts in this field will Know
  4. I didn,t want to start a thread just for this so if OK i put it under one of the I.D threads. Im not sure if this is truley military but from what i can read on the side its a donation ambulance from the US rubber trade, the chassis looks to be a Rolls

  6. Your right there Richard but its the first photo i have seen with those type of wheels and larger tyres, the photos i have show them with 7.00-20 tyres as attached
  7. I took another look through a magnifier lupe and yes it could be either Cent of chieftain the road wheels are quite clear with little magnifier
  8. Most were battle ship grey the dark blue was a post war colour, the wartime vehicles based at UK depots sported white edging arounf the bumpers and mudgaurds as per civvy vehicles

My father was on Motor Launches as a engineer on D Day at first they were off Dover acting as part of a decoy force that included bombers dropping windows they then were moved to the Normandy area to act as support against any possible German navy action. At one time they were floating between the Warspite and the shore when she let rip with a broadside, the skippers comments are unprintable and they buggered off as quickly as possible
  10. Not sure where to put this attachment so thought i would start a thread on this subject, it then leaves it open for all types the served in the R.F.C. Look at the size of the tilt on the modelT must have had room for standing patients as well:cool2: I always have a soft spot for the Crossley, many years back when the Family ran a off shore fishing business the boat winch was powered by a engine from one of these as a kid i had operated this many times and not known untill my old chap mentioned it years later. Sadly he is no longer with us so cannot ask where they aqquired it from
  11. Just to wind this one up a shot though poor from the 1950s data summery book depicting the tail gate, looks like we have done a Michael Palin and come full circle and taken up to much space in the Constructer thread good fun though
  12. Closest i can find is the Leyland Martian custom built gun tractor if not the attached prehaps the SWB cargo also used as a tractor for the 5.5 gun

  14. IN short no i didnt, if you are not certain it is a Milly it is more than possible a Albion CX22s a number of these still served untill the late 1960s mainly with the engineers in the later years

Nice photos Mark, i missed the show this year first time since the old Tenterden rally days but i did get up to see the Reos rolling thunder on Thursday evening what a site that was when they lined them all up in convoy in the blue car park to get them all on the road a.s.a.p i managed to get some good photos, 31 trucks i think

  18. I only saw it the once and it impressed me and a lot of others at the time, it seems the only time i see made in england these days is when i turn my military dinky vehicles upside down ah well
