  1. Good thread,...........not a rant amoungst the replies; (wouldn't expect one, on HMVF anyways;) At the end of the day, whatever 'title', we want to hang on OUR HOBBY, as long as the general public, at large know we are doing what we are doing (:???) is out of respect to those who gave so much SO we CAN talk about these subjects....... If you get my drift......... Andy
  2. Must say, I'm with you with the group I belong to, Easy Company L.H group,......so, in answer to your last question, Adrian, yes, I'd consider portraying the kit, vehicles, and being able to interact with public, living history,.........although, I'm quite willing to accept these could also be considered as reenacting........ The likes of Operation Balero, vehicle events however I'd say were deffo Living History, though...............although, what do I know.......
  3. Does Pat know you've posted this pic, CW ??.......:cool2:
  4. I'm guessing, as we'd been trying to sort it out, for about an hour,.......and he'd arrived about the same amount of time later, everything had cooled down. I'd look at the coil, myself, as I'm thinking, condenser tends to break down once it gets hot, anyways,......so, would have done so on way back to eastbourne on sat, where as coil, again I'm thinking takes longer to heat up. Then there's that black 'control' box sitting next to coil, that doesn't look to be strippable. Points also looked to be pretty near burnt out, when we looked, also seemed not to be closing, OR any sort of spark/decent spark. Sorry to hear you had even more probs after phoning me, David. See you soon. Andy
  5. Hi Petterz, welcome to the friendly forum,.......I'm guessing Jack will be along soon, with the clubhouse rules,.....but I think he's not going to aruge too much if you can manage to park the diamond T against his executive outside (to stop the rest of us useing it) toilet door. :cool2: Enjoy your visits,.........and pleeeese post some pics of your vehicles. All the best, Andy
  6. find them guilty/not guilty b4 that then......:cool2:
  7. :sweat:sweaty bodies, then........must get bulk supply of bottled water. Cheers for that, see you there. Andy Hey, Jack.........dont forget the factor 99 for you soon to be shawn head. :cool2:
  8. Just got my entry for this year.............:yay::yay: See you there.........:-D:-D
  9. Good call, on this one,.........I know when I had a box sherpa that I'd kitted out for touring in, stove, sink and bed, etc, I mentioned the fact to my insurers and they basically said I'd need to change the wording on policy, due to these facts..........
  10. Hope (if their found to be the culprit) they are tied to the end of a breakwater at low tide and left............would certainly save tax payers money.
  11. Well at least you've seen sense and got yourself a PROPER vehicle, ......now. :cool2: BRITISH......:-D:-D Welcome to the friendly forum, Tim. All the best, Andy PS, post some pics,.............please.
  12. that sounds like mine, as well; points down and no, no fumes in back, either. (although, as mines mwr, it could well be wrong for it, when in origional mode,........I'm guessing it would have exited well away from under body space) Andy
  13. Just found this site,....well worth watching the short films contained,......OK I know they're dated 1957, but hey......... http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=75429. theres also reel 2 listed below it.
  14. I'd go along with the above, Alan; For parts availability, I'm thinking Bedford is good.......they are a great lorry to drive as well. The one on ebay looks in brilliant fettle, and when I last looked a good price. Certainly enough room in the back to make comfy living accomodation, for shows, etc with benifit of 4wd for getting out of the muddy ones...:-D Best bit,............ITS BRITISH. All the best, Andy
  15. Great pics,............just love the black n white ones......... Cheers for sharing. Andy
  16. As agripper has already asked, what era are you thinking of ??.....certainly post war vehicles will (normally) be easier and cheaper (!!) to get hold of, in a lot of cases spares back up will be good, as well. Give us a few of your idea's, and we'll help you spend your cash. :-D All the best, Andy
  17. Amazing........... Cheers for posting it. Andy

  19. :-D:-D Bacon butties, as well,.........I hope..........:cool2:
  20. I may be wrong, here, Rick, but I always understood them to be the same,.........indeed most of the gs 15cwts I thought used the same bodywork. Could well be wrong, though. Just had a look at 'Bart's Bible', and has quotes, 'All basic models (trucks, 15cwt 4x2 and 4x4) were supplied with WD pattern GS bodies; Can't imagine gov stores holding different bodies for gs vehicles, but then again,..........
