weasel_nut
I have recently completed the restoration of my Air Corps Tractor. This is a 1943 CASE Vai that was equipped with a Case-Detroit Sickle mower. It was used to mow airfields where ever allied air craft were stationed. In the spring a set of NDT's on the front and she will be good to go. The search is on for a Case-Detroit 14. If anyone has pics of these in action I would love to see them. robin craig
Wow, what a wonderfully different piece you have and a grand job. Were you a tractor or military vehicle person first? What about a mower to go with it? Welcome to the forum, I like different pieces, very cool. Thanks Robin
weasel_nut
Thank you for the comments Robin. I was a military vehicle collector first and still collect them. I also have several pieces of other equipment that was used in the era. The mower is difficult to find. I am on the hunt. Bill
Jack
Nice to see you Bill and wonderful work. This may be a stupid question but where used here through Lend - Lease?
weasel_nut
Jack, They would have been assigned to the engineering unit that handled field maintenance. It is a glorified "lawnmower". With bases close together it may have covered more than one field. Bill
