mcspool
IIRC, the plaque stated it was built c.1920, and was in use until the mid-1950s! H.
nz2
Did the ladel identify this as a Mercedes Benz or as a Benz truck? I note this has a diff in the rear axle so probably a Mercedes Benz product, but like so many changes in name of manufacturers, production models can predate. I'm seeking information on chain drive Benz trucks from the period 1911- 1918. Doug

I snapped these pics with my mobile phone on the way out. If I go there another time I will also take a picture of the plaque with details. . . H. mcspool
lovely old lorry, especially the brass horn, do you know what year it was built 1920, if I recall correctly. It was definitely built shortly after WW1. H.
Runflat
Here's a 1912 Benz at the Mercedes museum in Germany - much nearer the WW1 model: http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2452644530027971137EaqYGJ http://ai.mausic.net/img/MercedesBenzLKW.jpeg

Runflat
Restored in Britain by Richard Peskett. He has also restored a second Milnes-Daimler bus for a Dutch client.
Charawacky
I seem to remember a Milnes-Daimler bus chassis found under a bungalow many years ago and there were two claims on it, one from a private individual and one from the science museum, I think it ended up going to the states? This is a recollection from my youth so may be incorrect?
